Hi, some of us Exeter lot have expressed interest in having another photoshoot but a bit closer to home this time. Thought I'd better get this posted up as I've just realised that we don't have much time left until the sxoc calender competition finishes.
Anyone is welcome but it will be quite a journey for all you Plymouth/Cornwall guys :)
I've been trying to think of some good coastal locations for the shoot but most of the car parks I keep thinking of have really bad roads or car park entrances, any suggestions will be noted and considered.
I'm thinking a Sunday would be the best day as most are likely not to be at work and we only have two more this month! So its either this Sunday or next Sunday on the 28th which doesn't leave us much time for entry's to the competition.
As far as locations go the only ones I can think of at the moment are :
Seaton sea front - you can park up on the big roundabout with our cars facing the sea
Beer car park - On top of a big hill with good views out onto the bay
Exmouth - Not that we want to be chavs but on a sunny day you do get some good views to the sea and plenty of room for parking.
We could go for a bit of a coastal drive and take photo's at each location as I know all the roads like the back of my hand i.e start at Seaton then onto beer and Sidmouth then end up in Exmouth?
Any suggestions - throw them at me :thumbs:

This one sounds good - various pics at each locale and move on for more at another. Eventually, we're sure to get a decent pic!!!! I would suggest Dawlish Warren too (:D easy for me!!!) but I know how you struggle with those vicious speed bumps.
How about a country house/hotel backdrop too? Or maybe up on Woodbury common?
When you lookking to have the shoot?
And cornwall has the best costal places!

there seems to be a growing trend of lazyness in the SW of not reading stuff :wack: all you girls need to do is check the first post :)

Ok I went out to check out some locations and took some pics but its all misty out there today and a crappy camera phone but you get the idea :)
Remembered a good one in colyton with easyish access, just a couple of lanes nothing like dartmoor though :D

Beer car park/picnic area, the view is good and easy enough access but a speed bump to get in which didn't look too bad............ or we could just go in the exit entrance which had no speed bumps at all :wack:

:nod: except theres far too much traffic on the roads these days :(
I know them like the back of my hand too but they are most fun late at night ;) Especially in the ek9 :smitten:

Some good locations spotted there Martin - Beer looks perhaps the best - could visualise some nice 200s lined up with the long-reaching views of the coastline in the background. Fingers crossed 4 good weather on the day we choose to do it! I can't do this sunday, but the 27th/28th is fine.

So far it looks like this :
Monkey Magic - doesnt care what date as long as he has rear brakes this time
Chriscooke - Working the 28th
Ross S14 Exeter - 27th or 28th free
Teggers - Is usually working saturdays and under the :down: sundays ;) :D

Think thats it for now but I was relying on teggers for Bex's camera so I'm hoping for a definate from him but I'm guessing it would be on the sunday anyway :)

Yeah i know mate, don't have any choice tho, spent over £600 on the car last month and am more than a little skint, Can't turn down £150 at the moment:( Plus theirs a gb on apex rads that has caught my eye now:rolleyes: If you lot go on the 28th it's no problem, i plan on going to meets more often now anyway:nod:

Definite yes from me! Would have to be a sunday though as I work monday to saturday :( Overtimes :D though. I'm not under the :down: that much! Its just that sundays are our only full day together and we usually want to go out and do stuff. Although I have pretty much 'persuaded' (see 'bribed') her to do this one!

:confused: The prevailing currents take the sand from Dawlish Warren beach over the bay! This is why you have a nice sandy beach and our is pebbly. We come over with the dog so he can have a good run on the beach - he can't on stones as they make his feet bleed! (greyhounds have quite soft feet)

Never had a 200, I just pinched the engine from an S13 and stuck it in my Bluebird :wack: Sold it to a mate up Manchester, who drove it for a week then broke it for parts :cry: Just hanging on now.
Our beach used to be nice all the way along. But since the bigger boats stopped coming in and Council won't pay for it to be dredged, it's gone poop.:annoyed:

Well it looks like its just us three then.
Teggers will be driving back from the east so we (me and Ross) could meet him in seaton.
I will give both of you a call to arrange what were doing but I think it will be easiest if Ross drives to my house and then follows me onto seaton. :)

Look forward to seeing the pics from MonkeyMagic today - was great weather :nod: I didn't go along with the boys in the end as a buyer from Wales came down and picked up my car :( Roll on my project S14 return (next week possibly)...project thread to follow hopefully in next 2 wks...
We did several locations, took almost 200 images and eventually came up with 6 really good ones. I have submitted them this morning (Martin - Bex was reading the photo comp rules :rolleyes: where you can only submit 1)

The evening ones look much better on some screens - they are really dark on my work comp screen but brilliantly clear on my home comp. anyway, they are 1/4 size and the images seem to suffer because of it.
Hope the sale went well Ross, looking forward to seeing your beasty on the road!!

2 & 3 look the best but the sunset ones are a little bit dark :( shame as the background is spot on.

Thanks for the comments - I'm sure Bex will be lurking on here reading them (haven't persuaded her to even register yet!!) but she will appreciate them!
Fingers crossed we get a month! Having seen some of the other pics submitted, I'm really hoping these are acceptable and one gets in. That would be christmas presents for eveyone sorted then :D as Martin said on sunday!!!
