Considering I have got a Blitz SUS air filter, and have just ordered a Blitz MS Turbo timer; I thought whatthehell, why not go for a Blitz Exhaust too instead of the Mongoose I was eyeing up.

What I was wondering, was ...

Has anyone got a Blitz exhaust, (Dan_BLITZED something tells me you may have???) and if som, what do they think? Any rust/corrosion problems? Hows the clearance on the exhaust? Does it sound mean!!!!? But not too mean, ala concord taking off.

Thanks,

John.

Gonna get in there before Dan http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif
Rust problems? No, its stainless steel right through.
Noise? You can tailor it to what you want. It comes with a bung that goes up the tail pipe to quieten it down to boringly low levels. BUT!!! It is removable for play time! the volume is then similar to an elephant farting down a megaphone.
As for ground clearance, I think it hangs a bit lower than mongoose but if your car isnt lowered it shouldnt be a problem. By the way, I manage to scrape my mongoose on speed bumps but thats probably due to te 30mm drop on the suspension http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

I've got a Blitz on my '98 and I would recommend it very highly. Quality is excellent, fitting was dead easy and it sounds great (without the insert).

Hmmm...

Am very tempted, am going to lower car by 30mm too, and don't want to score/ruin my exhaust.... hmmmmmmmm http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif

Oh well, may have to bite to bullet.. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

I have concerns about MOT's though, will I have to change the exhaust when I need to get teh car MOTed? What about spot checks? Emissions? aghhhhhhhhh

Hi John. The car had already been lowered when I had the exhaust put on and I did scrape a few speed humps, but nothing bad, just the odd "ting" here and there. The ones you'll need to watch out for are the square humps that sit in the middle of your lane, you have to go to one side of these. Now I've got 18s on, it doesn't catch any humps.

As for sound, go to my website, click the "my car", near the bottom you'll find a couple of sound files of the exhaust with the inner part in.

My advice is> Buy one.

Cheers Dan,

I think I will!!!! Have now got Blitz induction kit fitted and am mightily impressed, need to fit Blitz MSTT and, well, it seems a shame not to go for the blitz exhaust too.

Have you got the full system or just cat back? Was planning on going cat back to start with. Perhaps full system later. Don;t want to be ar5ing around with cat pipes and the like to get the car through emissions and noise levels though....

John.

It only comes as a Cat-back. Blitz now do the front down pipe for £125+VAT. I've got an SE stainless steel cat replacement pipe on mine. MOT not a problem, you can ask the garage to put the cat back on for the mot and then take it off again. Most are happy to do this for a very small extra fee.
