put this link up to try and get as many ppl from s.w to have a look and see if they know wot went wrong as i will need to stick it in a garage either today or tomorrow via free tow, any ideas are welcome peeps thanks:(:thumbs:
Any chance of some pics of the engine bay?
Would probably help a lot in spotting things that are amiss :thumbs:

straigh no noise before . Never had a rod just leave . HAd loads od noise first

working on other cars is more fun :nod: don't need to look out for oily fingerprints on the paintwork :D

mags no problems matey just a pitty you had to learn the hard way about OIL you muppet only joking mate ;) but seriously the hole in the block is about 45 - 50 mm in diameter and through it you can see a multitude of sins which looks like a catastrophic failure of the rod which has left the mangled piston embedded into the crank and crown and the crown has also cracked also if I didnt know any better and didn't know what I was looking at I would have thought that the piston had melted but that is just how hard the impact was :eek:

ok well the block is now stripped and cleaned and repainted so looks lovely hopefully all will go well in the rebuild :thumbs:
Have dibs on bearings until next week, got rear fenders coming this week that ive paid most of ages ago! Pay for manifold, turbo elbow, down pipe, exhaust system the following week! Then Turbo then the forgies and rest of the engine parts, then clutch :D

no gav that splitter hasnt won just taking a brake until I can get back there with the correct tool (grinder and cutting disk) to remove it lol :wack:

yeah on further investigation I am now in need of a set of honeing stones so I can remove the little remnance that the cleaning process missed but there is no pitting in the liners so it should all come out ok well hopfully lol :thumbs: I dont suppose you have a set I could borrow by chance do you chris?
