View Full Version : Anyone able to do a small favour?
Bee having a PM convo with Welsh Chris, and he has a nice driver rear quarter panel window that I can filch off him. However, closest he can get it is Bristol on 27th September. Seems teh Westcountry lads are having a big RR day / meet o that day (as per this thread - http://sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=367631 )
Don't suppose any of you lads more up that was are heading along to this? Looks like I need to do a pass the parcel with the window to get it down to me :) Any assistance appreciated etc :thumbs:

I'll be up for goin up to this rolling road day (not participating tho) - could grab the window quarter from u Chris then :nod: Is anyone else from the Sou-westers lot interested in goin up? Could car share if anyone prefers? Monkeymagic? Chriscooke (think u said u were working)? Teggers (assume ur working as well)? Supermonkeykong? Fleetingglimpse?

May I point out that South Wales have a nice track thats a fair bit better than the A38 :)
Would be good to maybe get a big south-west/westcountry/wales meet at a track day together? :) Have to wait till my car is fixed tho :(
Well Gav picked the window up at about 6 so it should now be approx 40 miles closer to Ireland for you :nod::wack:

Steve, as the monthly Route 38 meet doesn't seem to be going ahead I won't be heading down to Plymouth now this wkend with the window. I will be coming down to see parents-in-law next saturday or sunday so can come over to ur house at some point then. Is that ok to wait til then?
Thats absolutely fine mate :) Cashflow this month has slowed the car progress a bit for the moment. Haven't prepped the window surround as of yet. As and when is absolutely fine.
Steve, dont ut the window in yet, if your having the car painted put it in after. Its less hassle for thr painter.
At the current rate of saving due to finances, car won't be resprayed until 2010 :S Got to look at lots of options for now.... not sure how to progress.
Then.. plan to have the car resprayed, if you can't afford it (i.e. your situation doesn't improve) then just put the window in last anyway :) It's not like you'll be losing anything by not fitting it yet.

Yeah got it all ok :) Slight flaw in that there's no surround for it, so I'm kinda back at square one for the moment :D WIll have to do some thinking ;)
Don't you have the existing surround for your's? Or did you batter that to bits when taking your old one off?
Existing surround was trashed beyond belief, and no way to get another piece of glass into it :(
It's ok.... will get it all sorted eventually. :) IC should be going back on next week, so car will be vaguely moveble again.... Not sure where to progress next due to cold + wet + poor for a couple months :D
I'll get onto my windscreen guy tomoz and see if he's got any bright ideas :thumbs:
