Got the AA out tonight as teh car overheated, spat more water into the footwell etc etc Managed to seal the matrix pipes, so I got no heater, but at least teh car won't overheat
The upshot is that my head gasket could well be out on the way AGAIN, only had the current one appx 9 months. Still, it means my tubby might be OK... and I'll have to get the heater matrix repaired...

Aluminuim head gaskets (or is it stainless steel) - any good?

But at least it is drivable now

LOL have found since owning my car im just always skint...... best of luck to ya... my head gasket went once and then twice on a car of mine and that was in a space of 2 weeks luckily my dad sorted it lol ... its so crap when things like that happen and usually just b4 xmas lol;)

My headgasket has gone also.

Metal HG's are way stronger, good oportunity to lower the compression ratio for more boost too :cool:

An AA man rerouted my (old Fiesta) heater pipes and bypassed the matrix when it leaked.

Sadly this was on January 1st 1995 and every limb was numb with cold by the time I'd driven 200 miles home.
