View Full Version : Whats the M4 and M25 like on a sunday?
Got to drive to pick up some leather  on Sunday, from a place in Essex called north/south benfleet.
Thinking of leaving at 6 in the morn, to get there for 11.
What is the traffic usually like?
:)
I've found Sundays OK. M25 gets busy Sunday evening (not like weekdays though).
Cheers mate, I'm not really looking forward to the drive
I went on the M25 for the first time the Monday just gone - it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Although slow moving, it was actually moving and not stop start which I hate.

s'just round the corner from me matey :D
traffic wont be too sad from clacket lane services (i take it you are going south side?) until you hit the tunnel. A13 should be clear - i never have any problems on sundays :)
Arry, you know Dingle then?
What was the leather like in his car :D

No probs :)
Dunno about the M4, but M25 should be a breeze
on sunday.
Take your pick - from the m4 the mileage is almost
identical whether you go round the north or the
south of the m25. South is perhaps slightly more
scenic, but means you will go through the dartford
tunnel on the way there, and over the dartford bridge
on the way back.
Dont forget to take 2 x £1 coins for the toll fee - £1
each way if you go south ;)
25 is great - but don't use the outside lane if at all possible between about 4 o/clock and 6o/clock (not the time, the position on the motorway) - somewhere around there is a hooooooge ditch in the tarmac and it is really horrible to welly into at 70+....
I can't remember which junction it is, so sorry not to be more specific.
Otherwise it should be fine on a Sunday, infact I like the M25, then again I've got cruise control :D GO the tunnel way - it sounds GREAT VROOOOOMMMM :D :D
Here have a look at this...

Just click on the area you want traffic data and you will get it! Av. speed vehicles per minute.
enjoy.

It looks like the above link doesnt take you straight to the page, so if you click on real time traffic m25/london map based you should get it.

Dunno which bit of M25 you travel on, but I'm on there 6/7 days a week. Its not fine between 4&6 in the afternoon. Full of bloody sunday drivers. YOu often see slow traffic between Jn 9 & 14 clockwise. Try and avoid this area if possible.
I met loads of traffic around 8-9 one Sunday evening travelling from Dover to the M3.
I was thinking of going from junction 15 to 30, autoroute reckons it is the quickest route

M4 should be okay mate.. It gets a bit shitty in the evening on a sunday but its normally eastbound that gets bad so you should be okay on your way back:)
Not going now :(
Cheers though guys, cos I'm sure that when I do eventually go, it will be on a sunday :)
