View Full Version : Ha ha ha ha ha...then silence!!!
Well I don't know about anyone else, but I literally can't speak today.
Having returned from a damn enjoyable weekend at JAE last night (couldn't do today, due to rubbish family do) and watching the extremely enjoyable tug-of-war competition, for which I now cannot speak:wack: due to shouting "pull", "tug" & "heave" at the top of my voice at all the brave strapping guys on the SXOC team :notworthy I can't speak. At all. I can barely whisper and talking is a variety of honks, grunts and general horseishness! The husband is quite pleased though:rolleyes::D
It was a fab competition and I still maintain we won it (& I don't say this just coz we came second) - we had a biased comentator (complete nob), apparently the judge guy wasn't much better and we had about 4 difficult matches in about 20 mins. Our poor guys were knackered in the sheer heat of the day, had rope burn, muscular aches and all sorts - but were so brave & fab :smitten: & I for one am well chuffed with how we did  (& I paid for it with my voice :D).
Also it was a lovely presentation that we gave to the SXOC.NL in memory of Fernando Gertz - truly heartbreaking and yes I did have a few tears; it was so lovely:)
The hog roast was damn delish too
Thanks all the staff involved, Channie, Flik, Ben, Algie, Mark, Dani, Jim etc - fab job & you guys all worked so hard:clap:
Cheers to a brilliant time
I won't mention the lovely potato experience we had as I was trying to leave....
P.S who won the 'yard this year?

Was an awesome weekend, will put some random pictures up later in picture thread.
#I'm in absolute agony after the 1st team we puled against, the drive home was far too painful.
Everyone had an awesome weekend, mainly due to the people there, so thanks to everyone really.
p.s JC won the yard of ale competition, with a time under 3 mintues, i think it was 2 mins 23seconds or something.
I wondered where you were on Sunday Spirit
Awesome weekend:sxoc: very well organised as always guys!! shame about the fun police on Saturday night:mad: Was really good to see all the familiar faces and lots of new ones:thumbs: Some of the highlights were Stidi doing the yard of ale with Fosters:wack: throwing up halfway through and still finishing:thumbs: Gmaster T`s mc`ing:D:D the electric fly swat zapper:wack: and Pantera, F**king Hostile full volume 10am Sunday morning:whip:
There`s loads more but I need a bath and dinner:nod:
You guys rock:sxoc:
lol, I've not long got home and I can honestly say that Alvin is back in the house, thank God I didn't stay this evening I'd never have heard the end of it
Truly epic weekend with some of the finest people on earth.
Not gonna list all my favourite bits here as that would take all night but highlights were...
I finally do know who the f*ck Matt S is :p
Inter club Tug-O-War, you guys were fookin heroes!
Clair biting NinjaSX nipple and then getting a twister as thanks :D
Setting up the tent on Thursday afternoon and having a couple of hours before the rest of the gang arrived, basically just chilling out and getting into the JAE vibe with Famous Monster.
Doc and the photograph Tasha took on Kens camera (no doubt it'll hit the BB soon and my God did it make me laugh!!!!)
Watching JC take the YOA title for the 4th time in a row on his last weekend in the UK (good work fella)
The shots bar (Green FTW!)
Getting Kieran, Claire and Kev Kev in at silly o'clock on the Friday night and the ensuing chaos of 8 people trying to put up two tents in the dark with the worst instructions you can imagine!
The Gladiator fights
Deacon doing his DJ thing to maximum effect and timing 'Champagne Supernova' to perfection, the whole of the field was singing along (badly!)
GMT doing rap karaoke
Comparing with Doc during the YOA, I was crying with laughter at one point, his one liners were awesome :notworthy
And many many more.
Big thumbs up to all the folks who put it together, another flawless JAE (they just keep getting better).
It was awesome to see you lot, and nice to meet loads of new peeps too (no tosser there this year either which was really nice, well, apart from George but there fook all he can do about it :D).
As Ninja said it's a damned shame the fun Police killed off the music, we were rocking the place and the atmosphere was electric :D
Love you all folks, thanks for a brilliant weekend, i couldn't have hoped for better, and it didn't even rain (until I was leaving!)
Feel sorry for the poor sods still there, if they got a touch of the rian we hit on the way back they'll be soaked!
Alg - nuff said :D
I knew it was a good idea bringing the mic and leaving it plugged in for Saturday night:D:D:D drunken mic use FTW!!!

Wow what a party :D
I also have no voice... shouting PUUUUULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL did that and was further compounded by the shots bar - skittles vodka anyone?
Best JAE so far for me in terms of mad drunkeness and was fantastic to catch up with friends both new and old :D
Anyone got any good hangover cures? - I feel like death! :wack:
lol, I've been living on a diet of alka seltzer and burgers for the last three days and for some odd reason it seememd to work, I was totally mashed last night and felt completely fine this morning!

Another absolutely fantastic JAE weekend from the SXOC :sxoc: I honestly can't put it into words just how much fun i had.
Highlights for me have to be the monumental tug-o-war battle, deafening Andy Barnes and co. with cheering when Matty2Fatty picked up his trophy, Alg and Doc's commentating on the YOA comp, the green stuff GrahamB and his Mrs forced me to drink, and most importantly, all the SXOC members who made it such a cracking weekend.
oh.... and someone mentioned something about a car show that was taking place at the same venue
Matty2fatty was/is a legend
Matty2fatty was/is a legend
Good point, I think all the blowjobs he gives Stidi have finally paid off, there's no way he would have been able to swallow that egg whole otherwise :D

deafening Andy Barnes and co. with cheering when Matty2Fatty picked up his trophy
That was brilliant. We all packed out the hall, gave the most massive cheer when he picked up the trophie, then all buggered off after that!
I definatly think we should have won the award for which club did the best for its members. I mean, who else had free bbq, free hog roast, free drink, a blow up gladiator game and fun competitions pretty much non stop throughout the whole show!
Top weekend though. And another very big thankyou to all those that made it happen. :notworthy
Exactly Alex!
To be fair, we had our own show going on in our corner.

Absolutely cracking weekend, have to say big thanks to all the team that organised it.
Have to say funniest bit was when Doc commentating on the YOA suddenly announced a couple were having sex and the whole marquee just emptied:D
Ken's car yet again was awesome.
Chris doing a face plant whilst still carrying bottles of cider:notworthy
And JC, how the fcuk does someone drink that quick?
BTW, I'm off to buy a GTO, they must have girls giving free blowjobs is all I can say:wack:
And thanks whoever it was for "volunteering" me to do 1 tug of war... Jeez it nearly frickin killed me. I have to say hats off to all the guys who did more than 1 pull, you guys were awesome... and KevKev, I'm now deaf you were shouting at me so much :)
Exactly Alex!
To be fair, we had our own show going on in our corner.
I quite liked being tucked away.
OK, so its not quite as sporting and social on the show, but I (or maybe we as a club) make our own atmosphere and its best contained! :D

To be fair they were all up well past there bed time!
I'm not 100% convinced it had anything to do with the IMOC to be fair, there were still loads of them up round their marquee still listening to music a good hour after we'd been totally shut down but they were tucked well away and I don't think John spotted them.
I suspect John just said it was the IMOC complaining but in fact he just wanted us to quiten down just like all the other clubs (the guys in the field behind all got shut down too) as JAE is a 'family event'. Our music and drunken shenanigans don't really fit in with that ideal.

I really really enjoyed JAE this year!
Matty's eating was fantastic, I can't remember who said he'd need seconds with a follow up from the crowd something along the lines of "our guy'll need thirds!" Not only did Matty win, he then started on the person's plate next to him!!!! Awesome :D
We were well and truely robbed in the tug 0 war! I just couldn't believe the size of there team!
I think our gladiator set-up was actually better than JAE's aswell!
Top work to everyone involved in the organisation of the event and to anyone who stayed down there tonight, you are hardcore! :D
inter club tug of war was great...great laugh for most of the clubs....
was funny watching the MR2 guys losing then walking off in a huff...
oh and GO BEARS....:D
oh and whoever asked ....no we don't breed em in Labs

Just got in about a half hour ago from the mega drive home, what a weekend :sxoc:
Major thanks to all involved in the organising you all did a cracking job
Was really good to meet up with some old mates and meet a sh*t load of new ones this year and proceed to get very very drunk with them :D
Big thanks to kiz also for putting up me and wullie on the thursday night so we could have a brake in the journey down there, much appreciated
I'm now feeling rather wierd with a combination of severe sunburn and every muscle in my body being in agony from tug of war. My hands still don't close and grip properly :(
:sxoc:Roy:sxoc:
Yet another monumentous event, loved every minute of it. Cheers guys.
I have the mother of all burn/bruise combos on my arm from that tug o war rope, I didn't feel a thing until I got sober this morning :D, ouch!!!
Cheers guys,
Still aching from tug-o-war and the emmence sunburn (with sunglasses/panda eyes)!!
Can't believe how great the setup was I would definately agree with the whole "we were better organised than the organisers" and BIG thank you to all for a great weekend.
SXOC are legends!!!

Had an awesome time, although it was a bit small and the general JAE organisation / signage was a joke!
Nice to meet some of you - Thanks to Flik and Channie and everyone else for organising
See you all next year!
That was alright, that :D
As always, big thanks to the guys who made it possible - Mark and Channie havent even got the van back to the lockup yet so spare a thought for them - cheers to Flik and Ben as well, and everyone else who helped out, be it with cooking, making drinks, putting tents up (or taking them down) or whatever
I didnt actually leave our stand all weekend other than to watch the its a knockout - mad props to all who got involved, but particularly Matty - animal. I think the rest of Mersea knew who had won after the prizegiving, and the exodus after the shout out was magic. :notworthy
Saturday night was top fun - thanks to my colour commentary man Algie and all those who stepped up to the plate to take the yard. Once again, JC proved he is the yard master - respect to you sir.
Those that were there know how good it was, and thiose that werent missed out. As always, one of the highlights of my year - cheers folks
I just have to say my personal highlight was just after I arrived and I was saying hi to welsh Chris and he said to me, " I`m really sorry I didn`t make it down for your birthday, I really wanted to come" that right there is a classic example of the SXOC spirit and why I love this place:sxoc:
Well, after an absoulutely mental weekend of awesomness, i am feeling somewhat deflated:(...i just want to be back at JAE chilling in the sun with all you fantastic people, having a beer and enjoying the choons and all round fun and chaos!:D
To Channie & flik, you are both legends and it was great to meet you.
To my local lot; Adam, Mark, Danielle, Graham, Tracy... thank you guys, you're all fantastic!
To Algie; you are awesome dude and go out of your way to make everyone feel welcome... thank you!
To Chris; you mad welshman! It was great chatting with you but very  watching you greet Scouger(i think?) by licking the back of his hand! I was so glad you didnt attempt the same thing with his misses! lol
I spoke to a lot of people but due to a combination of shite memory and drunken memory loss, im struggling to remember you all so i'll just say an absolutely mahooooosive thank you to everyone for making the weekend so fantastic!
My only regrets are; not being big enough to do the tug of war (I sacrificed my throat for the cause instead though), and peaking too early on saturday night due to liking the liquid bubblegum shots too much!!
Initially i wasn't bringing anyone but due to a bit of bad news from home on friday, my lady came to give me a bit of comfort and ended up staying most of the weekend because she was enjoying it all so much...despite the fact she does not do camping...so that says a damn lot about how good it was!:D
Thanks again everyone!:sxoc::sxoc:

Great weekend :D
best JAE ever!
had a whale of a time, Miss Matty really enjoyed herself too, said it was the best car show she'd ever been too and that the SXOC were a great host and nice people to be around.
Her Satay went down well along with the other food she made :D
I'll post up my pics when I go through them, there are about 600
Bought a tear to my eye with the presentation of the Yard to the Netherlands crew in dedication to Fernando  good to see you all again too  see you towards the end of september :)
Hopefully we can do it all again next year :D
Big thumbs  :notworthy to Channie & Flik for organising it all :sxoc:
Algie & Doc for the hilarious commentary on the Yard, I think MattS could be the next Chuck Norris Legend! Judging from some of the comments about him, like how MattS invented the Dog.
All the people doing the cooking :notworthy

And finally for everyone else who attended and made for a fantastic weekend :notworthy :sxoc:

As always great to see our friends from SXOC.NL, hopefully see you in a few weeks guys:). Gotta say a MASIIVE ta to NinjaSX for bringing his PA kit down this weekend. Without it Doc and I wouldn't have been able to give Scolding the honorable credit of inventing time or changing his name from Nissan to Scodling so he didn't get stopped in the street!

That'll teach me for going in a Mitsubishi and not my Nissan :D
I'll be bringing my car and the missis next year
lol, btw i dunno if it was u or Ian who got the "oi get off my truck" on fri night, but it was rubix cube, and he doesnt even remember it:D
I said to him on the sat, when u get the truck.... he was like "eh"
I said, yeah u were shouting to some lad to get off ur truck..... he was like "thats not my truck, i came down in my 13"
Class:D
Lol it wasn't me and Ian was WASTED Fri night. He spent most of Sat in his tent because he couldn't move
If I had know someone was going to have an open fire I would have brough half a truck of fire wood :D Had to settle with Ian spitting absinthe on the fire
The truck should be lowered for next years JAE and sporting a few tuning goodies.

hehe yeah I said to get the pantera going! awesome!
"if we dont move they wont see us"
I was laughing so hard at that point I could barely breathe!
Matty2fatty was/is a legend
in more ways than one
Matty's eating was fantastic, I can't remember who said he'd need seconds with a follow up from the crowd something along the lines of "our guy'll need thirds!" Not only did Matty win, he then started on the person's plate next to him!!!! Awesome
I've been training him up all week by stuffing him full of tasty dinners LOL
had a whale of a time, Miss Matty really enjoyed herself too, said it was the best car show she'd ever been too and that the SXOC were a great host and nice people to be around.
 you guys rock! and definitley know how to throw a party! :sxoc:
Her Satay went down well along with the other food she made
glad you all liked it!
I'll post up my pics when I go through them, there are about 600
sorry that was my fault mostly  but I did get some stonking good shots ;)
Big thumbs  :notworthy to Channie & Flik for organising it all
Algie & Doc for the hilarious commentary on the Yard, I think MattS could be the next Chuck Norris Legend! Judging from some of the comments about him, like how MattS invented the Dog.
All the people doing the cooking
the random mic commentaries during the night were legendary!
Some say that he remembers when the whole planet was just a field & that his body is held together with cable ties and duct tape, all we know is, he's MattS
sig-worthy that!
Can i just say a big shout out to troy.

Thanks again to everyone who made me feel so welcome at my first JAE, you are a fantastic lot and much more fun than the vauxhall crew I'm used to, was without a doubt the best car show ever, and despite what the organisers said, we WERE best club stand, no competition!
Kirsty

cheers guys, I basically went around the entire club site and offered banana bread to everyone I met, but although there were 3 loaves baked it went quickly and if you weren't on the sxoc stand at the time then you missed out, sorry. Will bake more next time but as it was there was exactly enough for everyone who was there, so not a bad estimate :)
Kirsty
Wow where to start with thank you's
Firstly the legend of the weekend was Channie :notworthy: the guy drove from plymouth at 11.45pm on wednesday to get to mine in Essex for around 5am in the slowest van in world so we could get to the lockup to get all the stuff needed to setup on thursday. All weekend he was either cooking on the CARBQ or generally making sure things ran smoothly and then topped this off yesterday by driving up to the lockup again to drop all the stuff back off and then return to plymouth in the shittish weather ever. Got a text from him just short of 1am this morning saying his was home
Most people wouldnt do that shit if they was getting paid so to do it for fook all is outstanding IMO and they guy deserves a big
Other thanks yous are as follows and are in no particular order
GMT - I see first hand yesterday what a cnut the CARBQ is to tow so a big thank you for putting your life on the line again
All the guys who did their big cooking, Gav, Stidi and of course Doc couldnt give it up totally ;)
Ken, Alg, Famous Monster, Duffman, 200eSseX and everyone else who helped set up on the Thursday
Matty for being an animal at the food eating comp and just pipping the other guy to the trophy
The TOW team, you guys are legends. There was a few aches and pains along with some serious bruising, scrapes and burns so thank you
The TOW cheerleaders, we may not have had pom poms but we had the voices (even though most dont anymore :wack:) and i believed it truely helped the guys dig that little bit deeper
Ben for getting the club TOW rope that we didnt need :wack:
Graham & Tracy for sorting the shotbar, once again it was well recieved
Alg & Doc for their comparing over the weekend be it the Gladiator battles or the YOA, you guys should be on stage :wack:
Flik for sorting the IAKO teams and dealing with the JAE Admin team.
Everyone who 'dogsat' for us although granted it wasnt a hard job :wack:
Everyone who turned up and made it the weekend it was, it doesnt matter how well you organise it you need people there to make it the event it was
Apologies if i missed anyone but if i did then thank you :D
Yeh Channie is a star (and all the others who inputted into the sucess of the weekend). WHen he told me all the stuff thats happened to him and his car Im surprised he hasnt decided to ditch it all and buy a Montego :wack:! The guys had a shit load of bad luck, so well done for sticking with it pal. :notworthy

:notworthy to Channie, I had no idea he'd gone to such lengths to get everything so organised
True SXOC spirit right there! :notworthy :sxoc:
If you knew all the other sh*t that has gone on then you'd understand how much effort Channie had to put in :)
Missed a lot of the inter-team stuff except the end of the Tug of war. Was shouting all the way on the last 3 pulls though :) Well done lads, you did us all proud :)
I think Melissa was potentially volunteering for next year to help with the cooking btw... (and voluteering me as well lol).
You got your voice back yet Amy?
Chris> I think I've washed my hand, but I can't be sure... are you ok with that? ;)
Matthew
p.s. That plaque Fernando almost had me in tears when it was given over :( Thankyou SXOC guys for sorting that out, was very fitting :) Likewise it was great to meet the guys from NL.. who also came to my rescue/aid at one point.
You got your voice back yet Amy?
Matthew
Though Daniel is still happy, as I now (apparently) sound exactly like VBH - a couple of the guys from work have said the same. So I am thinking of starting my own porn phone line - apparently guys like a woman with a "husky" voice  ! (plus extra money coming in is always an attractive option ;) ). :D
Think this will last a good week odd though.... :D & I am still trying to convince work that I am not ill too!
EDIT: yes I forgot to add meeting Bianca & (was it Rick - sorry fella, don't remember - DOH!) from SXOC.NL - absolute legends & thoroughly nice peeps  can't wait to see them both again next year or before
I Sound like Frank butcher :D
Chris> I think I've washed my hand, but I can't be sure... are you ok with that? ;)
Ah so it was you! The look of total :indiff::wack: on your face was absolutely priceless!
lol.. thought i'd just let him get on with it rather that cause offence :D lol I figured as long as he didn't try to molest anything other than my hand, I'd be ok :D Quality introduction!
Matthew
I Sound like Frank butcher :D
Yes you did - except the impression was more Pat Butcher.
:wack:
:D
I Sound like Frank butcher :D
Whats the difference? :D
Big up for Channie, Flik, Ben, Mark, Danielle and all the other for making this a brilliant weekend :)
I'm sorry to say you've all missed the return of 'Alvin' who made a very brief appearence on Sunday afternoon when I was trying to talk to Parker telling him what a great weekend it was and how much of a mega-epic-homo-failure-loser he was for not making it up!:sxoc::D
We want the bears drug tested:wack: They were bloody enormous
True Story: JJ, Jeff and me saw them leave. That big fella standing at the end of the rope was lying on a trailer and they shoved water on him every 5 mins.
So we took a pic as they put him onto that trailer:
