The prospect of another 15000 cars around this area filled me with dread. The roads are getting bad enough as it is, let alone with that many more :indiff:
Chalk one up for councillor cluck eh? :D
Chalk one up for councillor cluck eh? :D
:D :notworthy
I just did my bit by refusing to even set foot in Tescos again. Can't avoid the fuel, sadly, but the shop will take no more of my money. I did spread the word to everybody that cared to listen and to even more people that didn't care to listen :wack:

GET THE FCUK IN!! :D :DIndeed  . It was a ****ing farce from day one :indiff: . Hey Mr Government, we'd like to build an "eco town" with absolutely **** all public transport links please. "Why, of course you may" said the government, "bung us £50M and the project is all yours". "Hold the **** on" said the residents and good folk of the countryside, "you want to build 10000 homes in the middle of ****ing nowhere, with no decent transport links - except main roads - and think we'll just roll over and say 'OK'. Get to ****-ing **** you bunch of ****-ing ****-ers".
And so, with that, it's fate was sealed

Tescos: sure if you let us build this Town
GVt: ok its yours,
Country Locals: oooh arrr Tescos, whats that?
GVT: its a large shop that sells produce, like you farm, but this stuff is cheaper and from China

Country locals: ooohhh arrr, that sounds like witch craft, we want no witches round 'ere, no Daisy is in that field, (i love diasy) you cant ave it

Good, now they can sling their hooks and concentrate on pushing the Six Mile Bottom Eco-town...
Eco-town my arse.
They were basing the whole "no more traffic" nonsense on the fact that longer trains would be used to ship people to London - none of which would fit on any of the other stations.
And people working in cambridge city centre would be transported via "High Speed Bus" - which would have been using the same "Low Speed" road that the rest of the town have to use.
