Just wondering if anyone is going to watch/helping out for the Britcar 24
Me and Jim_s13 work for BPM Racing and were running a Clio 197 in the 24 hour race. we shouldnt be the slowest car there but we wont be the fastest lol

I shall be there as I haven't missed one yet. The first year was great as there was no crowds, well when I say crowds I mean anyone as there were 93 paying spectators :eek:
Each year has got bigger and better, although don't expect massive crowds as this event seems to be the best kept secret in GB racing circles!

Another shout for BPM racing :thumbs:

Nice photos by the way ;) I shall send bro a link.

I shall be there for the weekend. Hopefully Gary will have his press pass so can get some good pics of the class leading Clio :D

I will come and say hello at various points over the weekend. I am sure you will be able to get some shut eye around about 4 ~ 6am as for the last 2 years the morning fog has been so bad the race was suspended till it cleared. The 1st year it happened the safety car had to be replaced whilst going round as it was running out of fuel!:eek:

Its confirmed;
"The Top Gear BMW 330 dti is returning to the race,
the Top Gear Technology Team will be running the car,
this year they are running the same team of engineers,
they are expected to do better this year,
as the car has been totally rebuilt,
after the Off the car had in the night last year."

SXOC should claim the RS*R GT300 championship winning Silvia and run in this race. It would be all alone in it`s class so it would win.

Chris,
I hear that you have lost one of your (not so quick) drivers and gained the current Britcar champ! That will be a good carrot for Owen and Ash to go after :D

I have got that week booked off for moving in to my new house so I shall be up on the Fri too for a while. Will come and say :wave:

WELL DONE GUYS :thumbs::thumbs:

Congratulation go to BPM race team in their 1st in class at the 24hr. A huge part of the win was down to the ace pit crew, Chris (lostvoice) and Jim (jim_s13), who put in a faultless performance.

Excellent result fellas!! :thumbs: :clap:

I was Marshalliing at Becketts In all weekend and we were all gutted for the Clio and team when it coasted to a stop right in front of us. Luckily it was dragged to a safer position, once it was known the steering was broken. :)

I'll let my fellow Marshals on that post know about the final result. They'll be made up like I was too.

Overall, it was a top weekend. Roll on '09. :D

Congrats guys :clap:

If you need any help next year, I would be interested in helping out. I have a race licence, but I don't think I'll ever have the money to buy a seat at the 24hr :D

Aww shucks :o

Seriously though, we do the orange thing because each and every one of us loves our motorsport, whether it's karts or Nascar, and we can get involved. If we don't see an incident all day whilst on the bank then that's great, but if and when we're needed, we'll give it 100% to make sure everyone is safe. :thumbs:

And we can't do it if the cars don't race, so it's mutual respect. The 24Hrs is fast becoming the Marshals' event of the year. Everyone I spoke to loved it from our perspective and wants to be back next year. :nod:

p.s. Those marshals that I was with, that initially went out to the car to get it moving again, are made up with the result you guys got. :thumbs:
