I think that should put me at stage 3!

That said I won't be expecting any power gains over my last RR as I am fairly sure my turbo gasket is everso slightly leaking. (Is probably only when cold).

It will be my first printout on a Jez map though! The PowerFC has improved the low revs so should be interesting.

I have the 2 fronts finished and built and 1 of the rears finished and built:thumbs:.
The last rear has had the outer dished polished and the center powdercoated, I just need to clean, then prime and pain the inner basket and that can go back together as well:nod:.
Hopefully i will have time to clean, prime and paint the basket this wednesday and also have some time to get up to Ch1ef's to try and put the tyres on the fronts:smash:.

The rocker cover looks the business, although my DIY colour coded plug cover is a different shade of red:ghey: so iam going to cut one out of 3mm Aluminium sheet i have spare and mirror polish it:D - perhaps cut a funky design in to it too:whip:. Probably won't have time to do it by the RR day though.

I spoke to Castle Combe again today in an attempt to book a track pass for the mini action day:D, might as well seeing as we have the rolling road session booked for that day and as it's right outside the circuit:wack:

They will have a non-mini 'open session' at the end of the day which I can pay for on the day, £30 track, £10 entrance. Anyone tempted to join me?

No more details than that really. I'll be strolling across late morning to see if I can book a pass.

Since starting to book things for my wedding my bank account has had a bit of a battering and i can't afford fack all.

Don't think there is any noise limit, never have been at any other RR i've been to, it's only for a short run so not continuous like on circuit.

Yep, would say that's what's happening, my CA coils broke down ~1.5-1.7bar; made S14 splitfires fit and they break down around 2.2/2.3.

If you don't get any miss fire at higher boost then probably not, though their sales spiel will say otherwise.

I think they are around £220 + delivery etc from places like nengun, or around £400 in the uk. :wack:
There are better ways of curing high boost missfire, but not as easy to fit as the splitfires are direct bolt on plug and play.

With these rollers you should be able to get lots of useful information about your engine. If you decide not, come along anyway to spectate. Though do let me know what you reckon you'll do; I'll need to inform Circuit Motors on total figures before the day.

Tell me about, Matt (200sxs13) and I have been working on it every weekend for the last 3-4 weeks and are now stumped, as we've put it all back (minus a few std items that aren't needed) and it doesn't have any vac when trying to idle then backfires through the inlet plenum.
If it is just the inlet plenum->head gasket is loose then it should be ready to put on, but if it's not that then we'll be spending this weekend trying to find what is wrong.

It's starting at 0830h.

There are a couple of convoys. The Welsh convoy is not expected to arrive until 0930h though, but should already have a queue of cars lined up.

There are a couple who have already mentioned they cannot make it until the afternoon. It's looking spread out, but we don't really want to be waiting for cars to arrive so I would urge you to get there as early as possible.

Other than that the priority will be those that were on the list first get preference.

Don't forget track passes for Combe circuit might be available at the end of the day!

How quick and easy is it to swap the diff out at leisure??

Track slots should be at the available at the end of the day. I am going to enquire around lunchtime.

As far as cost??? - 30quid for a track pass but an admittance charge may apply. I have a feeling you can get into Castle Combe for free after 3 o'clock though.

Entrance is 10quid if you want to park in there all day. MiniWorld Action Day is on hence the charge, but also hence, the chance to run on track at the end of the day.:thumbs:

Had the car running on sunday, but it wouldn't idle, suspected leak on the new head->inlet gasket, but tightened a few loose bolts today went to start and nothing.

It's being blamed on the possibility of faulty VVT. Goes very well upto about 4.5 - 5k k then it just looses it and the fueling goes mad (been mapped like taht to protect it I assume)Having to keep the boost on low at about 23psi too so I doubt it woudl make muc of a figure as it is. It has started doing a little bit of VVT rattle so maybe it is the problem. Had intended to get it sorted in time but after Buffy mentioned the RR I clean forgot about it till I just noticed the post now. Oh well, next time!

It doesn't have a maf anymore. I reckon something is not working but I'm not convinced it's the VVT. There again it was flat top end before the build and the vvt / cams are teh only thing that haven't been upgraded.

Nah I'm afraid not, totally my fault though, I just haven't bothered, I tend to have little spurts of interest where I'll spend a few grand then not bother again for a while because I've found something else to spend my money on. This weekend I shall be out getting (or at least looking at if she don't like it) a new run aroudn for teh misses cos teh freelander I bought is a little heavy and she does big mileage. So the freelander will become my works vehicle and the wife will haev a new little run around. If I'd know an actual date I'd ahev tried to get it sorted but unfortunately I only heard it Via Buffy and he wasn't sure of a date at the time. don't even know if he's going to it.

I can confirm 150% that the sx isn't gonna make it, the wire from the soleniod to the starter has conpletely disintergrated! and i can't get the wierd bolt for the water pump anywhere!!
But i shall come along the derv and will prob bring the mrs camcorder to video everyone on the rollers??

Steve mike fielding told me today that he has to work tomorrow and won't be able to make it:(
