View Full Version : Reliable Vauxhall?!?!?!??
My runabout Nova (1.2) has just reset its milometer (over 100,000 miles) and as I know the history of it I can confirm that it has never broken down, needed any serious replacement parts (it might have had a front wheel bearing, but I'm fairly sure it was just front pads), or run poorly in anyway (except for the standard poorness).
WTF is this all about? Surely it can't be right? These cars are crap!!! How come my 2***** can't achieve this???? *waves angry fist in direction of nissan designers* 100,000 miles and only front pads FFS
Rant over.

Coz its a 100,000 miles a lot less quickly. There will have been a LOT less forces wareing your nova over 100k than for your 200.
I had an old astra with 138k on the clock and going well untill it was nicked and burnt out! But it was a dull and a dull dullard on a dull day....

Yeah but the nova is a crapper car!!!!
But I do agree that this is the deciding factor, just shocked that the old vaux hasn't broken down yet. I do hate it though and wish it would break so I could bin it!
I wouldnt mine a Nava as a 2nd car as it'll make the 200 feel soooo much better :D
If got a D reg 1.3 Golf thats slowly dieing on me but need lots of new bits :( Still after a week of driving it around its V nice ta get a go in the 200 :D

I had an old nova merit as a second car years ago. It had 120k on the clock and in the year and a half i owned it i only had to replace the clutch cable. Bulletproof little cars.... just a shame they're cr@p.

My Astra hit 140k yesterday, and as far as I know its had nothing major go wrong except a blown hg which really isn't worth repairing. Not like I treat it well either :)

The 200sx has a turbocharger, which, amongst other things, stresses out the engine much more, and forces you to boot it far more often!

Yeah, mine hasn't seen an oil change in the 20,000 miles I've had it. I'd be shocked if it had any left in it, I've neer checked it
It does indeed make the 200 feel great though, I wouldn't want to wreak the ***** by all the cold morning 10 minute trips.
