View Full Version : More drifting at Oulton - Saturday Sept 20th

Well, everyone seemed to have a good day drifting at Oulton so by popular demand we have secured another Saturday drift day on September 20th :nod: .
It's the same plot as before, SXOC members get the discounted price of £120 which includes a full day drifting and entry for one driver and guest. The guest can sign in as a passenger and we will have two tailhappy instructors - all included in the price :thumbs: .

Just for reference these are the rally stages that we use
Stage 1 - This is arguably the better of the two stages as it's a little faster and more open.

Stage 2 - A little tighter than stage 1 and slower but slightly more technical.

Beginners are probably better off sticking to Stage 2 for a while at the start of the day as it tends to be a little less crowded and, with it being slightly slower, you can get a better feel for the car.

Im trying to negoiate with work to get the day off, just curious, whens the latest i can pay?I cant afford it till 31st August (pay day:) )

When you are absolutely certain that you will can come, get your name down and we'll hold you a place till you get paid :thumbs:

Well I would be there again but I have other commitments that weekend. :down:
However that commitment is a track day at Thruxton diving a Porsche and an Aston Martin. :thumbs:

Just got back from holiday and found out work cant give me the 20th off :cry:
But they've let me have the Wednesday off so im able to do it with MSV! Welll gutted cant do it with the SXOC tho!grrrrr!

How were the Aston's??
Very wet and very tail happy :rolleyes:. Had to save the car from a spin about ten times during the day :eek:
It's been quite dry here and i haven't lost control of my car all day :p admittedly it hasn't moved though :rolleyes:

Just whip the pads out and make sure that they aren't stuck in the carrier, it's very rare for the piston to stick on front brakes so it's usually a five minute fix :).

Thats no excuse you don't use anything but the handbrake anyways :) plus we would all be on hand anyway and over lunch could probably have it apart and back together again hehe

Never drifted before.
Is it possible to just do an afternoon?
Reason being that the little one wants to watch, so I'd have to persuade my Dad or brother to come along for a half day to look after him (aged 6) and I could probably persuade them for half a day, but not a full!!
I would like to come to this but will cost me too much after petrol to get there, "drift" and get back home:annoyed:

Scottie, it's a full day only I'm afraid :no:, we are limiting the numbers to make sure that everyone gets plenty of tracktime and if we take a half-day booking it's one less person that can do the full day. The only other way is if you find someone to share the day with, then it would be £120 (club rate) for the day and £35 for the second driver - that's supposed to be two guys sharing one car but I'm sure we can sort it so it would be one in the morning and another in the afternoon :nod:.
Obviously if you do book for the whole day you can land whenever you want, there's some pretty decent catering facilities on site and bike racing to watch on the main circuit so there is a full day's entertainment there for both the lad and the dad ;)
Shaun, most of the guys found it a pretty cheap day on tyres and fuel compared to a trackday etc so might be worth a look.......;) Can any of the regulars confirm how much juice they get through?

Its about 161 miles one way from cambridge and if im in london its 202 one way. So will be about a tank ana bit to get there and back so maybe £120 in petro for the day. I think I'll give it a miss this time. Once I have the car fully sorted - i will be down to one! Don't want to come all that way an the car breaks:ghey:

Hi Steve, totally understand, it makes perfect business sense to not sell a half day that could prevent you taking a full day booking. :thumbs:
However, it also makes business sense to perhaps PM someone on Friday morning if you are not full, and at least sell a half day as opposed to getting nothing at all for an empty space LOL. ;) :)

IE. DAMAGE: tiny rear dint,
puncture in left front tyre (screw in it went to get fixed but still goin down)
small dent in left front wheel.. however does not effect steering and balance
is spot on...
