Has anyone tried to change one of the number plate bulbs on the S14,had one blown since I`ve had the car so i`d thought I`d do it today as I`m sure this is a MOT failure and mines next month.
Anyway what a complete nightmare, the screws were completely rusted and would not move at all ended up ruining all the heads. So then I thought I`ll drill the heads off, all this did was remove the steel plate that goes over the lens, the screws are threaded through the lens and into the plastic behind and then into a plastic plug.
The only way I could find to remove the damn things was to blindly undo the two bolts that hold the brackets onto bumper.Once they were off I ripped off the plastic plug and undid what was left of the screws with some pliars, changed the sodding bulb and did the whole thing back up with bolts then jammed me arm back up the bumper and blindly put the brackets back on.
Took me about 2 1/2 hours absolutly covered in dirt and grim just to change a bulb
.
Be warned.
