This has been prompted due to a couple of traffic light incidents in the past few days whereby I've had people look down their noses at me in my Punto.

Smugness is particularly distasteful as some of the morons I am on about weren't exactly driving anything that I could remotely describe as an Automotive Tour De Force - ie pants.

Remember, when the Sun comes out so do the w@nkers :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

when you mean smug you actually mean "think they own the road"? I feel smug when I drive around in the sun, roof down, but i respect other road users, driving in a rather chilled out and mellow fashion and let people out of side roads... unlike the typical generalisation of the bmw owner...

;)

so in answer to your question i'd tar the bmw, merc and 4x4 owners with the same brush. and then roll them in a pit of feathers :D

I voted Porsches, came across three of the little buggers yesterday, two boxes and a nice looking one, dont know what it was but looked faster than mine......wasted the boxes though :D

You just have to love the look on their faces when they get munched, cos they are under the impression they own the fastest cars on the road, cos of the badge...........BMW drivers i just feel sorry for!

I voted for Beemers, but I would also put in a vote for blokes in people carriers that have obviously been forced to drive them because of their family. Soembody needs to tell them that they are NOT fast and get of my bumper.

Last summer I was waiting in the cue ready to get on a P&O ferry in Dover and the guy in front had a Aston Martin Vantage. I was in the Volvo and when he got out to get something out the boot he looked at me like I was something he had trodden in. Being a quiet and shy sort of fella ( ;) )I said nothing.

Later, when we were disembarking at Calais, matey in the Aston stopped at the bottom of the off ramp and held up my queue for a bit. Eventually some sailors pushed his car to the side and as I went past I could see he'd ripped his front bumper off on the offramp. The bloke was mitey pissed off.

I just caught his eye as I went passed and winked at him before I sped off :D

Bit off topic but "all wheel drive" has always been a phrase thats confused me? Hows it different from 4wd??? :p Does the spare wheel drive too? Steering wheel??? :rolleyes:

For me its the 4x4 thing. I just don't get it. Buy something slow, noisy, and expensive so you can take the kids to school and look down their noses at the rest of us. Any one who goes off road though does get respect, 'cos they're using it for what it was intended. Its also a misconception that they're safe. They just don't crumple and absorb the impact like a regular car.
Btw Scooby's are completely different from the types of 4x4 I'm referring to so you can rest easy ScoobyDoo.
And Dunc, how about a truck with three axles;) I believe some Landies were also made with two rear axles.
