How long will it take do this journey? Any roads I should avoid? I have to do it tomorrow for an interview. :)

Avoid the M6 around birmingham.
Apart from that, you'll see pretty much all of the shittiest roads in the country for traffic. The north bit of the M25 is a total shitter, especailly around the M40 and M4.
Who you apply for? Avia or someone else?

BOC Gases - got final interview/assessment day down there tomorrow and Tuesday. Thankfully, I'm in a Hotel for a night I won't have to make the trip twice.

If the journey is in the morning, give it 4-4.5 hours, otherwise give it about 3 1/4 hrs. I only really know the traffic situation from the M25 onwards as I rarely go on the M1. Between the M1 and the A3 will be pretty much solid traffic from 7am to 10 am.
