Lisatiptop, Scotty Drayts200 and I are trying to arrange a monthly meet in the Torquay / Exeter region of Devon. We have found a good location already, it has a big carpark, good food and is not adverse to noise.. Problem is that 3 of us is hardly a meet :)

We have had interest from a few others in the area, but it is really hard trying to get this sort of thing off the ground.

So far I can think of only 8 200SX owners in the region, however, other RWD japanese turboed or 4wd marks would be more than welcome. Please post any interest on this thread :)

When are you thinking of having the meet Chris? :)

Chris,

Would you be talking about the Coombe Cellars? It's alright until grockle season hits, and then it's an absolute nightmare. Loads of of lost tourists clogging up the lanes, and making you drive in the hedge. The car park floods as well

Would probably be better finding somwhere close to the A38.

Cheers,

Andy

What about the pub at the bottom of Haldon/Telegraph Hill ? Food is meant to be really good there too.

Vince

Any ideas where to go for the Plymouth meet? How about up on the moor? Plume of Feathers is good in Princetown, if that's not too far for anyone.

vega
28-03-2003, 18:23
Plume of Feathers ain't bad, If you havent been banned from there :o

How about somewhere up towards Yelverton, or Burrator, nice straight bits of road too :D

Erm, dunno where else, let me ponder over it :)

The big shiny thing was delivered today, but I wasn't in :(

Hayley
28-03-2003, 18:25
How the hell did you get banned from the Plume. I use to live in Princetown and I know James. He is one of the easiest going guys (most of the time). Even the hell's angels never got banned from there. ;)
So there's 6 of us definates for a Plymouth meet. :) 7 if your mate gets his in time.

Erm, I may be thinking of the wrong place.

The one I'm on about is as you go into princetown, you go over a little bridge, and immediately right is the car park. The pub itself is out of the way, and is located on a right hand bend.

basically, one of my mates knows the chef there, and we had a big piss up there, and upset all the guests. That was that.

Hayley

Think your somewhere else.:p
The Plume is at the bottom of the hill as you go into Princetown on the Yelverton road. Right in the centre of the village. :)

OK, sounds good then :D

Some nice roads round that way too.

My mate should have his motor by then :)

28-03-2003, 19:46
i will vince

just had the dreaded mot today,

failed:( :( on front pads, braided hoses not secured well enough (1 tie rap i thought would be good enough) rear braking out of balance.

tommorrow oil change, fit hks actuator and sort rear brake thing.

pads from bren wed latest i hope

well up for plymouth meet and anything as long as its not to much further on from there.

black wheels look mint!!!

vega
28-03-2003, 20:03
Shaun, I've tie wrapped my braided hoses into the bracket which is originally supporting the crappy hose, passed no problem.

Rear braking, thats gonna be get the callipers of and a good clean up innit? Probably slightly seized.

Wheels look OK then mate :)

Chiffs-boy
28-03-2003, 20:15
yeah wheels are mint.

i think balance prob on rear is due to load of rust htat was there and worn of on my way to test centre. maybe a little sticky as well.

just going to take of pads and give a quick sand and check caliper to see if ok.

Got to stick some rubber grommetts in to bracket and tie rap some more.
then just wait for pads!!

I've realised that I am the only S14/A owner down this way, there must be somebody else with one.

I can just see the car park now lined up with S13's and mine looking completely out of place :( Little children will be pointing and saying what's that one doing there

:D

vega

Why is there a pug 406 parked up with all those probes and mazdas :D

Scott_Drayton
31-03-2003, 12:32
Yeah well, a 200 is a 200 i believe, s14 or s13, lets face it, we call love the car!!!

Plus, with Lacey's 280bhp (wheels!!!) s13, people will be pointing and saying "Daddy, whats that rumbling sound coming form in between all those sheep?" :D

Also, an intelligent kid would notice that they are ALL in fact Datsuns :D :D :D.

vega

What has been done to get 280 brake at the wheels ?

That is a respectable figure, I'm going for 300 at the fly, and that is more work than i had originally expected.

:)

Chris_Lacey
31-03-2003, 18:51
Scotty is a little confused ;)

It's 233@ the wheels and approx 280 at the fly :)

Still, it's only the wheels figure that matters anyway :)

Are we any further forward on deciding a venue? :D

Well, how about the services at Jct 31 of the M5? Or that general region. It's 20 miles from Torquay and Cullompton, and about 50 from Taunton and Plymouth.

Easy to get to, well lit, and I am sure there is a pub nearby :)
