I need a bit of help with S15 headlamps.

The car has HID gas discharge headlamps, they had obviously blown when it came into the country, somebody has cut off the special connections that go on the back of the discharge bulbs and bodged in a pair of H4's. Obviously the H4's keep blowing.

Ive got the correct bulbs, just need the block connectors to go on to them.

Does the S14 have similar lamps?:confused:

No. The S14 has halogen lamps not HID's.

I've got to be honest I'm quite surprised a H4 bulb works at all if it is being connected to the output from a HID ballast. H4's work at 12v, the ballast puts out a few hundred volts. Are the HID ballasts still present? Or has it somehow been bodged into the 12 v supply before it reaches the ballast??

Well guys car is here as i write this, so Ill have to see what I can do.

Would be so much easier if those knobs at the SVA centre hadnt messed about with it.:mad:
