August Longwell extended meet, drive and photoshoot

Hooray the SXOC '09 calender has been anounced.

So how about extending a Longwell meet to include a trip down to Chedder Gorge? A while back someone suggested this could be a good place for photo's for next years calender.

I've put this meet thread up early so people are hopefully aware and have time to polish their cars. (See Jim22 for detailing services)



A link will be put up in the members section for submissions which will have to be received by the end of September. Entries then chosen in time to go to print beginning of November.

Think you'd stuggle to get a sunset picture in the gorge.

Haven't had much interest to this thread so far. The normal Longwell meet will go ahead as normal.


Would it be more preferable if the trip to chedder was on the following Sunday?

Or how about the following Saturday but earlier in the day?

Shame there do seem to be a quite a few who can't make it.

But some who can! Am tempted to suggest arranging a different day and time but is going to be very difficult to find something convenient for everyone.:wack::annoyed:

I'm always up for this sort of thing, so if someone wants to arrange another escapade on a summers evening, just start a thread with a suggestion.


The route I have planned is basically from Longwell, down to airport road and head out of Bristol through Bishopsworth, then out past Bristol airport and taking an early left before Churchill to come in the back way to Chedder driving down through the cliffs.

The other alternative is out through South Bristol through Chew Magna lakes then take the back route into Chedder through the gorge.

Can't get multi map to play ball. As soon as I have a non bastardized route I'll post up a link.

The Welsh meet has now been tied in with the Rolling Road day! May be able to cram it in!

I'm still going to go:wack: even if I'm on my own:( especially if the weather is good.


May well be able to do something when the Welsh are over, I'll mention it to GAV200. If the RR preference is Interpro then we need to be finished by 1400h, so plenty of time for another trip to Chedder!:thumbs:

Got a welded diff at the mo, does my head in when turning at slow speeds. Doesnt look like I can borrow a ramp tomorrow now so the welded one will stay on.

Weekday are fine for a meet. Golf will be a rite laugh.

Usually aim to get there for 1400, but will aim for 1330h as Cr33ch usually has to leave to get to work for 1430h

Last I heard he was in the process of getting a new job so may not have to leave early.

Unless it's a complete washout and no-one is interested I was going to head down to Chedder around 1500h.

I'd better get a route planned.
