Hi all.
Hope some one can help. I have got a 94 s14 import that went in to get a small oil leak from gearbox seal sorted, this was done in half a day. My mechanic doing as asked ( locate and sort any problems ) found it needed a new head gasket, we all thought not a big problem. 10 Days later he is still trying to locate the correct gasket. I have spoke to Nissan today and they explained why it is such a problem getting the correct parts for Jap engines.:annoyed::furious:
Dose any one know some where that holds new imported parts like this. Or some where in Japan that will ship double quick.
Thanks in advance

S15 engines are the same as s14, so you could just order a UK spec s14 one. Speak to Driftworks / Apex they probably hold them in stock

Do you mean UK spec s15 is the same as Jap spec s14 engine. My mechanic has tried UK spec s14 gasket did not fit.
So should we try a UK s15 gasket.

Sorry thought you had a Import s15, but re reading you have an import s14.
If its a turbo the head gasket is the same as the UK model so just order a UK s14 one. S14 and s15 are also the same
As he said, the UK S14 gasket didn't fit. Presuming it's an S14 silvia that's somehow got a redtop SR in it sans le VVT perhaps?

It's a non turbo. I know nothing about engines I called it the head gasket the bloke working on it said its the rocker cover gasket, is it the same?
Rocker cover and head gasket are 2 very different parts lol
Post a pic of the engine bay - might be easier to determine which engine is actually in the car.
No, rocker cover gasket is the gasket that seals the cam cover to the top pf the head; head gasket is what mates the head to the block and is far more important/costly to replace when gone!
The UK S14 rocker cover gasket won't work as the rocker covers are different, because the SR20DE is a fair bit different to the DET.

Any clue of where I can get one

Don't worry mate, we've established now with it being a non turbo that it won't be a red top SR20DET, it's an SR20DE that you've got - ie non turbo variant.
Just wondering if the rocker gasket from something like a primera might be the same......

Just spoke to my mechanic and has got one of his boys to take the rocker cover to his suppliers and I think they are going to spend the rest of the week going through all their gaskets. If not then Japan is the only option?
Doesn't the Primera GT have an SR20DE engine.... might be worth trying that...
