View Full Version : Genuine question
I caught the tail end of a news report yesterday. It was about the clearing of the docks/waterways to allow humanitarian relief into Iraq. The reporter said something about the US wanting the Un to pass a resolution allowing a food for oil exchange!
Can this be true? Have I gotten hold of the wrong end of the stick, or are the US and by proxy the UK expecting oil or oil rights in exchange for the humanitarian aid they insist is forthcoming, and which has played an important part in convincing people that this war is just?
I dont mean this post to be inflamatory Im just curious to find out if I heard correctly. Can anyone enlighten me please?.
oil for food has been going for a while now....
Shows how much notice I take of international events! Seriously though, are the US expecting payment for the humanitarian aid?

It seems the US and UK arent the only people wanting in on the action. The greedy French want us to fight the war and THEN they want a large roll in post war Iraq. I'd say to them to feck off! They call us greedy... Our boys arent gonna die for the French to benefit. Sure they can help mediate the region, there is always room for that but to jump in for economic gain after the dirty work is done is down right scandalous  HYPOCRITS!
Our boys arent gonna die for the French to benefit
Ah-ha - so the war isn't for the world's peace then? IF it was, surely the French would benefit as well as would everyone else???
sorry - saw a chance to be inflammatory.

Yeah send Clair Short to the UN. That'd serve the buggers right and do us a favour in the process. I admire that womans firm principles.
