RichSeal, put it down to age and area. :D :D
All I'll say is when the proposal comes MAKE SURE THEY HAVE ALL YOUR DETAILS DOWN CORRECTLY AND DIDN'T MAKE THINGS UP on the proposal form to give you a better and more competitive quote.
Oh, and then make sure they don't deny it once you've already paid over £1800 UP FRONT for a policy you'd lose 25% of if you cancelled, rather than paying the extra £450 you now had no other choice but to pay.
****ers.

Hi Rob,
The details are irrelevant as the policy has since expired, and I've sold the car, now. It was the Ledbury branch I dealt with, and sadly I was less than impressed with the communicational skills (or lack thereof.), that resulted in me having no choice but to continue with a policy that ultimately, was not the cheapest I could've gone with, and then pay more on top.
I was quoted, and paid £1809 via VISA, only for when the proposal form to come through the post, that they'd written down the date that I passed my test as, quite conveniently, precisely two years prior to the date my policy was to start, despite the fact I'd only had my license for approximately 6 months. I contested this to be told that there was no way they'd have made this up, and that I must've told them this, and that quite blatantly I was lying to get a lower quote, when really, that just isn't my style. Of course, it wasn't their policy to record phonecalls, so I had no proof, and was resigned to just paying up.
Only good thing I'll say is that I only paid £70 in additional premium for a 30bhp increase :)
But yes, other than that, sadly, I wasn't impressed. Sorry :)
Best,
-D.

D,
Very sorry to here about the trouble you have had with our ledbury branch that is very very very poor!!!!!!! All i can say is that the 200sx scheme is run purely by me and my manager at our heanor branch 01773 530161 heanor@insure-shop.co.uk and that i am also a car tuning nut and understand what people want as i do the same.
All i can say is that i am sadened to here of this neglect of service from that branch but be assured that under no circumstances will the situation occure with ourselves!
And if you ever need a quote and some TOP quality service please call on the above number and speak to myself (Rob) and i will look after you.
Kind regards
Rob

Rob
Might be worth giving the folks a bit more detail on the covers you can provide and the type of risk you can cater for, for example ppl with claims/convictions? Age restrictions? NCD requirements in order to quote?
Also, which insurer are you placing with? If you dont mind me asking :)
Well done on getting something sorted :)

Rob (And Dave in the office)
Thanks for your time in getting me "converted".
For everyone's information.
I did have insurance with CIS.
The renewal came through as £586.01 paid over 12 months (no mods declared)
I got a quote of £509 with Greenlight, paid a deposit and progressed the transfer to Greenlight. Upon receiving the documents it would appear I was ending up paying over £600 as it was an 11 month payment via D/D.
(All mods declared with a £300 excess.)
After speaking with Rob and Dave I have cancelled the Greenlight policy (£25 admin fee for cancellation as Dave faxed the new cover note as proof of cancellation) as Rob's quote came in at £450 (F/C protected) with a £250 excess which includes legal AND breakdown cover with the policy. With the D/D it totals £498.60 which, in my opinion, is an excellent quote and service.
Alan
I'm sure I won't be the last person to transfer across to Rob.:D

Arry,
We provide all covers except guaranteed value polices on modified cars. Will give more details when we have finalised our new scheme with our own insurance company. But cant reveale to much as dont you work in insurance arry or your mate does??
Rob,
It's good to know that a branch of Insure-Shop are looking after all my buddies here. I was just a little  when I randomly checked the insurance section, and there were all these threads praising Insure-Shop! Hehe. You must be doing something right, though ;)
No offence intended to your manager, or yourself, and as I said, I'm glad to know you're not from the Ledbury branch ;)
Best,
-Daniel.

yeah tis me that works in insurance, not trying to blag ur ideas tho matey - just curious :) I dont do any motor insurance anymore, have moved on to property/commercial combined and liabilities on a delegated authority scheme.
Nice one on sorting something out tho - I know how bloody hard it is to set schemes up nowadays and even get an underwriter to sniff at it!

Arry,
The company i work for is owned by cox insurance holdings plc and they own equity red star lloyds syndicate. Equity red star are resposible for the Rs owners club under there sister company dominion. We are looking at getting them to do the same deal on 200's as they are on the rs's and we will all being well at some point this year be able to offer schemes for skylines and gti-r's as well. the idea is to get the insurers into the right way of thinking which is that most of us who own modified cars cherish them. we ar not little boy racer idiots who stick a big bore exhaust on then think we are an F1 drivers.
All being well we get a better scheme from equity red star (or sister company) and we would also like to see if we can get the companies to have approved repairers such as norris designs or hiteq on the books, but that may be a while off yet.
If any one has any queries give me a shout you all know the numbers and email address by now.
Cheers
Rob

Is there no way you can do agreed value policies?
By the time the engine has been rebuilt I guess the car will have had around £10K spent on it and it would be nice to know that I will get most of that back.
I think I'm going to email you my details, if thats OK?
