Well a bit of progress this weekend, s14 calipers, bmc and 300zx front discs installed complete with braided brakelines. What a difference it makes to the car :D Pics to follow
Too... many... projects... arghhhh!
Get the piccies up then Raz :D
I take it your building the engine yourself? Interesting Pistons... will the ceramic coating make that much difference?
I'll be doing this conversion (300zx alround) very soon, so additional info useful :D (won't be using the BMC though as can't afford that just yet).
Matthew
we (I ) want pics !! =P
seems to be coming along nicely... by the way... if it's not too bothering for how much did you get those Mahle pistons?
keep up the work

I'm doing all the work myself  (apart from machining etc) and will be having an ex porsche teccy look over/supervise me, i've built engines before but i'm a bit rusty :)
The ceramic coating is supposed to reduce any tendancy to DET and improve heat transfer, and for £170 off this board it would have been rude not to buy them :wack:
As for the brake conversion it's really straight forward to be honest, i was amazed that a set of calipers i stripped and rebuilt actually worked :D. I even had to recruit the missus to help me bleed the brakes. Main things i can think of are.
Prep:
If the brake pipe fitting in the wheel arch looks manky, wire brush it off and soak in wd40 (i used graphite penetrating oil).
Take the master cylinder lid off and trap cling film/ a plastic bag under the lid and re-fit (minimises fluid loss). I replaced the bmc anyway as the pedal feel was poor.
Use a proper brakepipe spanner on the nut which connects the hardpipe to the flexi, saves you rounding it off.
Discs - bought from iezura for £54 (ebay) and redrilled by me to 4 stud (they fit perfect)
Hoses - Just use conversion hoses, they're braided and really easy to fit
****make sure that the system is bled correctly as per the manual, i've never seen so much air come out of a brake system, the rear calipers were easily the worst closely follwed by the abs unit, DO NOT let the master cylinder become empty when bleeding ( i used nearly a litre of fluid) ****
Progress may well be a bit slow, i've a far from unlimited budget and i'm doing this outside the house on the road :wack:

and on top of this i've found my wobbly wheel problem, two ill fitting front spigot rings  They are tapered so the small diameter bit of the ring doesn't actually sit on the hub!
That aside this weeks plans are to fit subframe locking collars and swap the gearbox and diff oil
