I'm trying so hard to restrain myself from commenting on how dodgy american HP figures are.

Didn't read it all but most of the guys are talking like 1000+bhp supras are ten a penny, bullshit! The only street legal one I've ever heard of (although haven't researched the matter much) is the skyline engined top-secret one.

1300bhp my ass!

LOL!!! OMG!!!

This is my favourite quote so far ...

Stock 'busas are an easy meal with a single, fuel, and a shot of happy gas. Around 700-800rwhp will smoke them quite easily.

Oh really, ONLY 700bhp @ the wheels??? FFS!!!

what you guys on about? my standard CA18DET with a shot of optimax will nuke the 600bhp mark:rolleyes:

I thought one of the highest powered Supras was the yellow Jun built one that I think managed to break 200mph on the salt flats?? Again, I think that was pushing 800bhp so 1300 does seem shall we say optimistic!

This shows how messed up their figures are ..

Anyhoo, 1300RWHP is damn near pushing Formula 1 power, but should I really be surprised

Well F1 cars are about 850bhp @ fly aren't they, how the hell does that translate to 1300bhp @ wheels??? tossers

EDIT: Just read the next post where someone points that out to him  :o

lmao, it's a classic my nobs bigger than your's situation where the results just keep getting bigger and bigger. I dont believe any figure until I've seen a graph that proves it.

I think even U.S. dynos lie, they use the SAE standard that doesn't take into account water pump/power steering pump/ alternator losses and if I remember correctly someone also posted and said they stick the gearbox losses on top and still call it a "at the wheels figure".

I also found one site that had a conversion factor for DIN (european power standard) to SAE and I worked out that my car had 408bhp!! :D

**EDIT**

ALLEGEDLY ;)

If this were the case then how do we measure gains from lightweight pulleys?

We do not add power to the graph.

I've seen the numbers you guys put out and they are on par with the same numbers we put out here in the US.

Jesus Rivera, or some supra dyno queen, has dynoed at a little over 1000rwhp.

I can give you examples of 600, 700, 800, 900rwhp Supras in Austin alone. 804rwhp out of a Supra... and it has 9 second timeslips to back it up.

Supras are dyno queens anyways... who really cares.
