I have a Profec B on the way, does anyone make a little insert to put the display into the plastic thingy that pulls out in the dash? The bit below the cd player, but above the ash tray,if that helps? I have thought about modifying that part, how does everyone else install their Profec? I was hoping someone like Apex would make a carbon insert, similar to the boost gauge holder that replaces the ash tray. I apologise for my wording today,i can't seem to be able to type my thoughts

Most people tend to fit them where the ash-tray is , as the space you mentioned below the stereo is usually used for guages.
As far as im aware tjhere arent any inserts etc to slot in

Best place IMHO is ontop of the steering column where you can easily read the display and only involves drilling a small hole for the wires and boost tube

i tried to mount mine in the ash tray but there isnt enough room , and if you do getit in the pipe is easily kinked... i swaped mine to the bit under the steering coloum to the left hand side can be seen good to, and keeps it away from praying eyes!

I've been looking at my ashtray and thinking that maybe if the back of it was dremmelled off, the Profec might fit okay ? is that what you tried initially Dan or did you just try it without chopping the ashtray up

I used a blank carbon plate from Apex and cut an undersized hole with a junior hacksaw then filed it to the correct size to keep it neat. I had to cut away a bit of the surround behind the ash tray, which I did with the console out of the car. The plate is a tight interference fit so doesn't need gluing.
