New S14/S14a stage 1 map

When I made the stage 1 ECU upgrade it was for:
fuel pump
exhaust
filter
boost valve at 15psi.

These days a lot of people are running an FMIC - do you think it'd be worth doing another map specifically for this setup? I think we'd be able to get a bit more than the usual ~260bhp*.

I was also thinking of doing a different stage 2 as well - tubular manifolds are a lot more common than they used to be - I could do a map specifically for this too. With custom mapping I've had over 300bhp*.

Any comments or volunteers?

* On a Dyno Dynamics rolling road - most others read higher.

I think that incorporating an FMIC into the stage 1 could be a wicked idea. And when you say volunteers, what do you mean? I am literally getting myself ready to fit full stage 1 + FMIC and saving for one of your maps.

I was reading your thread and thought I'd post - I'm not allowed to advertise etc except in my section :)

I'd need a few people with cars that meet the spec exactly, so I can do a custom map and then make it suitable for the majority of cars.

all i need for stage one is the chip now and if your doing what i'd call a new "stage 1a" chip with fmic then if there is movement in the price for the chip i'll be happy to let you have my car for a day after ive got a fmic fitted

Only 40k on the engine, made a sopossed 281bhp@fly at Janspeed in Sailsbury (think you were there:nod:) a few years ago before FMIC, AVCR and metal intake went on - used manual boost control back then.

I have a stage 1a, as I am only missing the injectors to make it stage 2. I think its a good idea to expand your chips suitability towards people that are in the middle of these set out stages. I have the time, but not the money, if you get desperate for another car to test.

I have a stage 2 chip fitted at the moment, making about 300bhp, using a tubular manifold, apexi evo exhaust, decat, 3" downpipe (wrapped), nismo 555s, FMIC.

You're welcome to have it for a few days if you want to play with the map.

I actually made 324 on a dyno dynamics locally, but everyone seemed to be getting high results that day.

I've mapped the 1st car at stage 2a - although we haven't had it on the dyno yet as it was fully booked at the time.

Very interested in the 2a chip depending on power output. Not really ever been impressed with the standard stage 2 chip power figures I've seen.

Its mainly the extra torque in the mid range that distinguishes stg 1 to stage 2. You have to have an uprated actuator and boost controller to get the T28 to hold 1.2 bar near the red line.

I run apex type2 FMIC - so a slightly smaller core than normal, would this be a problem for the 1a? Would it be best to custom map a 1a with this smaller FMIC.

I've done an initial 2a map, but the car was not holding boost at high rpm so the results were low. Going to have to try and sort that out.

Theres no guarantees - but I've run stage 3a on a std auto box and it was ok.

I'd be happy to help out as a reserve if you need it. If nobody is able to make their car available in the near future I would help out, but other people's work may be more flexible than mine. There is obviously quite a bit of demand for a 1a and I'd do watever I can if needed.

Robbie and I will be going to the dyno on the 1st December to sort out the stage 1a ECU upgrade - basically the same as stage 1, but mapped specifically for a car with an FMIC.

At the moment he's got the std DV and a MBC. So I'll probably block the std DV up with something (if it leaks) and temporarily fit a profec B to get better boost control.

I'll post all the results up here when we're done :)
