View Full Version : Race Tracks In the UK
Is there a Map of the UK highlighting all the race tracks and airfields the country has to offer.
Reason i ask, i live in South London and all the tracks seem miles away to have a bit of fun. (not inc. Brands Hatch which seems to cost a lot):sxoc:
Even the SXOC meets are pretty far away from me :(:(

is croft any good because knockhills the only one anywhere colse to me !
or do you have a map of unofficial race tracks :D ?
Croft is a good track:nod:
Exactly what i thought, F-all:(
someone local to me should be a keen drifter/track dayer?
Ken is not too far away, Epsom is says in his profile. I'd ideally like to be brought into the scene by a felllow SX'er:thumbs:
As far as airfields go, these guys:

Do quite a few of the 'better' airfield tracks...
Right thats it! im looking on rightmove.co.uk im getting a flat up north!
Exactly what i thought, F-all:(
It always amazes me that the closer you get to London, the less people want to travel ... most of the tracks are in the South East.
Move to Scotland, you have to travel a fair way just to get running water, never mind a race track :smash:

Exactly we have no drift comp whatsoever up here so we have to do BDC every trackof which is in England :( But we still make it

Three Sisters racetrack at Wigan is missing from that map.
As for blangs, you is a wimp. I've driven 300miles and then hand winched bikes on to a fishing boat at Portpatrick to get them to a classic bike race at Nutts Corner in NI when there was a Stranraer ferry strike. 6am start and 80-100miles was normal distance to VMCC events. Longer distance (for me) like Brands or Lydden would mean camping in the paddock. Drive up night before 4-5hrs, camp, event, pack up about 5-6pm and drive home. Yeah you need a mate or 2 to share the drive and keep the driver awake.

Lydden has Saturdays at £140, it's only 50 miles / 1hr further down the road from Brands and has a very generous noise limit.
well, i was kinda worried about bringing the car back in one piece. But the wimp comment has got me charged:smash:! In london you get used to everything being under one roof. Time to get a track day booked A-SAP
Goodwood is a nice drive from S London, not sure how often they have stuff on tho.
samoht - u up for a tracking session then. The more the merrier!

limited to 10 cars on track even with open pit lane.
Brands is only expensive if you do the GP circuit  If you do the Indy afternoons they do they are under £100
Three Sisters racetrack at Wigan is missing from that map.
Thats because it is primarly a kart track

Bloody hard circuit to learn (all the right handers look the same) and incredibly fast!
I'd go to Lydden, great little circuit and relatively easy to learn. Not a lot of runoff though ;)
