Its real easy Wolfe, the hardest part is making sure not to sheer any current bolts on the car now (I advise you to start WD-40ing them up now). Basically for the front its three bolts on the strut and two bolts at the bottom and for the rear its two bolts under the parcel shelf and one bolt at the bottom....

I would help but i'm busy sorting out my older brothers wedding reception for Sunday...sorry bud.

You'll ideally need at least re-camber bolts, at best rear suspension components to sort the toe/camber issues out to do with lowering. Believe me, it gets expensive really quick (every 3-6 months buying new rear tyres) if you don't sort them out when lowering.

Take into account having a full alignment done as well.

Apart from that I could most likely help you Steve, just depends where you want it done and if I can get there!

I'd say (with my limited experience) at least a set of camber arms (Apex £129 for bushed or rose-jointed :Plug:) I have these and want the rest of the set too. Not essential as the S-tunes don't lower that much but the adjustability would be nice. Not top of the list of bits though

As far as I was aware the camber arms were only required if adjusting the rear drop more than 35mm. Which with all the crappy speedbumps round here was about the max I was going to go for a while. But if you guys reckon its really needed that much, will order a set in on payday.

They will pay for themselves by reducing tyre wear :) Just get them setup properly by an alignment place though. Your car will thank you for it :D Not sure if the whiteline settings are any good though.

The coilovers out if the box on the hightest setting should already drop it a fair bit... camber arms are always advisable as you regain control over rear geomentry... same with the rear toe arms...
I'l be over on saturday morning nice and early to help fit or just fit them and ram this jack in your ass! :p

PMSL @ Matt

i lowered mine and had to have camber and toe adjustable arms.

Steve have you got LED rear lights now? My work mate said he saw a car like mine with LEDs so it must have been you.

Got any pics?

Wolfe

Indeed I have Gary, Wise Square jobbies ;)

No piccies atm as car is mucky, but can get some sorted if I ever find my digicam.

Channie - can delay the suspension for a week or two to get the rear camber arms sorted (have to wait until pay day). Intention was to slap the suspension on & limp her to protyre to get a full alignment done immediately.

I can say that Steve taillights do look good! I like

Not that visible in bright sunlight until the brakes come on but we both seem to drive with sidelights on no matter what the weathers doing anyway so not essential. Just useful when going into a tunnel or similar or if someone hits you! You can state on the insurance "I had my lights on so how could he/she not see me!"

Half arsed job!!!
Speak to driftworks they could probably knock them out next day if you order before the courier gets there!

Agree with Channie, get the DW set :) Don't even think about that ebay rubbish, it is known to fail.

Wolfe

I wasn't thinking about ebay :P Was looking at the 400 squids DW set. Then I saw the rear upper & lower arms as well and had to close the link quick before i debated spending another 450 quid on top again :D

Channie

Ebay and driftworks stuff comes from the same factory... dont care what anyone sayes!

Wolfe
23-05-2008, 16:24
<scratches head> so wtf do I buy then? :S

Don't get Apex as its ebay... don't get DW as its ebay, don't get ebay as its ebay <confused>

Adam0bmx0

lol, DW aint e-bay. E-bay shit has no protection over the rose joints, at least DW and Apex attempt to seal the joint, so go with either of these.

Scougar
23-05-2008, 17:07
I was under the impression that ebay ones break or sieze up where as the the DW are hard as nails. The ebay ones do 'look' flimsy as such.

Some is the same. DW are better then the Ebay ones as the build is much stronger.
I have ebay (2fast2cool) ones and no probs so far. I do keep an eye on them.

Channie

How much do you guys wanna bet???

Scougar
23-05-2008, 21:02
That they are the same? How exactly can you find out?

Anyway.. "from the same factory" is not the same as "are the same items" (albeit, a different colour) :p

Which of the above do you mean?

Looking at the way you two are arguing.... this may be appropriate as to what my question has done:

I can vouch first hand for the quality and longevity (touch wood!) of many items from '2fast2cool2.com' via eBay. £80 for toe rod arms (pillowball ends are coated), ARB drop link bushes for £55, pillowball camber top mounts £60, rear upper camber arms £90, all are posted prices and are available via the 'Buy It Now' option so no waiting around.

I went to Protyre for alignment 2yrs ago, £75 for all round adjustment, toes & arms. Hope this helps if u decide to go down that route Steve!

Only necessary to have toe rod arms after dropping more than 40mm. Adjustable rear upper camber arms are always advisable after any lowering

I'm not arguing and I'm pretty sure Channie isn't! I wouldn't be surprised if they are made in the same place, but I don't believe they are the same product. If Andy can come up with some proof of it, obviously that is beneficial to the whole sx community and not just us to talking about whether they are the same or not.

Matthew

Channie
24-05-2008, 16:27
Yep i have proof and anyone is able to come have a look! I have a set of front lower arms from flea bay and a set from DW... identical! Apart from colours... not to mention my D2 arms are the same as DWs

Might be slammed now :S

Will be getting some camber arms Friday to stick on the car, after which she's going to ProTyre. Car isn't being driven for a couple weeks anyway so setup being out of whack is fine for now.

Garysx

Wolfe i drove around for months without adjustable camer and toe arms.

Yeah he can do it, but he may as well do it all in one go and then pay just for one alignment setup :)

He still only needs to pay for one allignment?! The only thing wolfe can adjust at the moment is the ride height... which should be measured on each side before he put them on... this isnt something protyre will do for you

Scougar

He can adjust front camber at the moment with the coil-overs.
