Picked up a new car for the Mrs Yesterday - Lexus IS200 to replace the B*W 318iS.

So much better equiped and the 24v engine is so smooth!!

At last, we both have Jap cars - and although its not and SX, they're both 200s :)

Is the IS200 Scrabble-powered (I have to admit I don't know!)?

No it's propper wheel drive. Round these parts though they tend to be driven by people who are considered too egocentric even to own a BMW.

Followed a chap up the M6 sliproad last week, he was doing about 45mph so I overtook him. As I drew level with him he looked across and swerved his car towards me. Being in the E I gestured to him in the time honoured "get orf maa laaand" tradition and he promptly decided to folow me. He followed me for 3 junctions before I got off, kept followng me until we got to some traffic lights on red.

I got out, with my 7 cell maglite to keep me company "in case there was a total eclipse office :D" to enquire about the nature of his problem. He promptly fecked off through the red light :D :D :D

I hate people like that. Can't stant to be overtaken, whatever the circumstances. Crush their bollocks I say

Nope, no scrabbliness.

Its quite nicely spec'd out actually, its the sports model which has additionally an LSD and slightly lowered suspension (only 15mm)over the others.
Heres a spec as it comes out of the Factory.

2ltr 24v VVti 153bhp RWD.
TC + ECT (Electronic Throttle Control)
ABS + EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution)
6 speed gearbox
Climate Control
Indash 6 disc changer - pretty good sound system actually.
Everything electric inc Seat adjustments and folding wing mirrors.
Dark Rear tinted windows (Tinted glass not film stuff)
17" Alloys

It could do with an extra 50bhp though.
I guess thats why they've recently brought out the IS300 with 3ltr 210 brake engine.

Still a bit 'poncy' though.

You don't ever wake up in the morning and think 'I must have an IS200', do you?

Or DO you!!!!??? :D

Well, It was either the IS200 or "Another" 3 series!!!
It kinda swayed toward the IS when the Mrs sat in the Beemer and said "it don't look any different to the one I got now". The E46 is very similar to the E36 in many ways. Plus you don't get many extras for the same price paid.
There weren't many other 4 door saloons that took her fancy. Wouldn't go for a C class, and anything else wasn't "Prestigious" enough! So the Lexus was the best bet for us.

well, we might get an IS rivalling the m3 sometime here in the states. IS430 i think they said. itll have the 4.3l v8 and should make a good bit over 300hp. dont know if they'll bring this out, but it would be really cool if they did. that thing would absolutely haul.
