Stupid IE...

Everything works fine in IE (6.0.2800.1106 on Win2k SP1), except...

I have IE set to not reuse windows for new links, and basically, any time a link should open a new IE window (links with target="_blank", or shift clicking, or right clicking and doign 'Open in new window' etc) - the link fails to work..

All that happens is that the current IE window 'flashes' the title bar once, as if it loses focus then regains it, but nothing else.. No new windows, no new links open..

Same thing happens if I already have an IE window open, and I click on a link in an email (for example) that should open a new IE window - nothing happens.. Unless I close the first IE window, and then the link in the email will open IE and display (but only if there is no other instance of IE already running)..

Confused? I am.. Anyone any ideas?

Ta..

I would, if anyone else had written one that actually worked as well for the majority of websites out there ;)..

I used to run Linux & Mozilla at home (have gone back to Win2k now), and I've tried Mozilla & Opera under Win2k, but there's always at least one website that displays as a hideous mess of crud..

I'm well aware that's because MS define their own set of standards, but, that's why I end up using IE...

I tent to use a combination of Oprea7 and Mozilla. Between the 2 of em I manage to keep away from the abomination of using IE. :p

See, that just seems like two much of a hard life... :D

And this is coming from someone who spent 9 months using Linux at home, and steadfastly refusing to go back to MS, even though it caused sooo many things that just didn't work quite right.. :D
