View Full Version : Just a thought...........
As our vision is 3-D, when you look at a picture of a car, it's not a fair representation of it, as it's only 2-D. This may sound blindingly obvious, but I think it can make a big difference on some cars.
Is our vision 3 d? or it is a blisteringly fast motion of 2d stills?

What you smokin' man ?! ;) :p
Gues the brain creates a 3-D image from 2 sets of 2-D info.
I'm not so sure. The brain perceives depth of field (dof) but the eye can only register a limited range at any one time.
THis also begs the question - what is a 3d drawing? A paper has no depth (other than itself >1mm) so therefore is a 3d drawing 3d or 2d???
Same applies with the brain, I think...
The wonders of binocular vision :)

Sound like the wonders of alcohol or drugs to me :D ;)
u need 2 eyes to get a 3-d image, because it's the difference between the 2 images which creates the 3-D image (illusion)
Our eyes are too close together to allow us to see in true 3d, unless we get real close to an object.
seeing that the light is cast onto the back of the retina creating a 2d image, even with 2 eyes the difference between images when the observed object is 20meters away is neglegable ........ so for arguments sake ... if you want to see real 3d ... you gotta get real close to the object ................. Its why womens breasts are nicer the closer you get to them !
