Guys I have started a project that I have decided to do for as little money as possible, hopefully with out the car ending up looking at all chavy!
I have spent a lot on my 14a but thought I'd see weather a bit of elbow grease and hunting round the net could create a really nice car for next to no money!
The aim is to end up with a nice looking S14 that (including the cost of the car) is going to stand me at no more than £3,000 (excluding the cost of the MOT test, insurance and tax as every car needs these things) by the time I've finished and I aim to have the car at JAE for closer inspection.
So to start off. I had this old liner......

She owed me £1100 as she stood and I did a straight swap for this slightly ropey, un-tested, un-taxed S14......

Now this only happened 8 days ago so the improvements so far:
When I got the car the only obvious test fail was that the washer jets weren't working. I managed to organise another washer bottle (thanks docwra:thumbs:) and at the same time some replacement door cards cause as you can see the ones in her had been chav'd up royally (many thanks turbotony, your a star and provided me with 4 immaculate door cards for £20). I picked these up on Friday night.
Saturday I got the washer jets sorted, then took the car for a test. The rear brakes were binding on but that was soon sorted with some spanners, a pot of copper grease (£4.99) and a big hammer and re-tested, so now she has a full years ticket.
I got hold of an old Alpine head unit for £50 and went to work on Sunday.
The door cards were all changed, upon taking for front ones off there were no speakers in them however when I went to check out why the parcel shelf was not sitting properly I found a set of kenwood speakers under it so transfered these to the front doors and wire up the head unit.
I have also changed the screw covers on the front plate (which I had) and my good friend Chris moped it for me as best as he could (the paint is well and truely knackered:rolleyes:).
So now we are here.......

Now unfortunately I do not have time to work on the car in the week, I shall crack on next weekend and update the thread.
Running total so far - £1174.99!
