Hi Guys

As you can see im new to the forum

Just bought me a nice S14a which im intending to MOD.. so over the next year or so (time permiting) im going to go ahead with the following mods

I'll try and post up as many pics and details as i can as i go along

Im calling it project 300SX due to me wanting the car 300hp @ the wheels ( i could go more but want the relaibility) and the fact im using a lot of 300zx Z32 parts in the project ... plus the fact im putting my private 300 plate from my z32 on the car :D:D

In no part order

Z32 Front seats with electrics both sides, then re cover the whole interior black , with cream leather inserts ( dread making the rails)

Z32 Front brakes with 330mm disks (done)

Z32 rear brake conversion

Z32 AFM conversion

Z32 BMC

Digi Climate Control

Move centre consol heater vents and remake fascia to take 4 gauges

complete new centre consul with bays for boost controler and turbo timer .. painted silver

LED light conversion, every bulb on the car replaced with own brand LED's apart from headlights which will be fitted with race style HID's (brighter and cleaner than standard HID's )

Engine : 2.2 Stroker + Uprated tubs and uprated LPG system

Engine bay : Bling, Bling Bling @ detailing

Move battery to boot

Body work detailing ( no body mods just ultra clean paintwork ) and colour code plastic bits

Stealth Ice install

I'll add more as i go along but this lot should keep me busy for the time being :D

2.2 stroker for 300 hp?! Massive torque, then?

I think a lot of people might be intereseted in the LED bulbs, so keep posting as you go on.

Good luck!

presuming you had alloy front brakes from the Z32 then, because the S14 brakes are the same if they're pig-iron.

yes, i want a lot of low end torque .. looking at my dyno figures i have the torque is crap low down and you realy notice it until the tub spools up :D im hoping with a stroker i can double it .. who knows

Bit strange you should mention lag and no low end torque - SR's are usually pretty good for this. Are you sure it's running right to start with?

Yes shes runnign fine ..i had her in the tuners last week .. running fine .. i guess im more used to figures from owning a few Z32's .. i think 300 at the wheels is more than enough for what i want esp the weight diff between a Z32 and the S14a. im not getting any lag just a huge diff between tub spooled up n not .. i want to even the it out a bit

oh definitely. Mate of mine Crazy Eddie had a zed just shy of 400bhp and the 300bhp S14's were a match for it really, except if you wanted to go really tall into the speedo ;)

i was thinking a 6 speed from an S15 might cure that prob, its something i will look into though ... once ive done a few bits

Horsepower and drag are the important factors at high speed. Obviously gearing can limit you too, but a 400hp car should always have a higher top speed than a 300hp car.

I'd be surprised if a 300 at the wheels S14 would keep with a 400 brake Zed at the top end..... I remember an infamous christening of a place in Essex 2 x 200s and 2 x Z32 and with the S13s off the clock, the Zs shot past

As has been said before, you need the horsepower for the higher speeds.

When my Zed was standard boost (about 310-320bhp) I saw 160 on the clock at Bruntingthorpe. My mate's 380bhp one saw 180!!!
