anyway, its a shared a$$ therefore you would have a 50% say in what happens...

THen again, if your siamese twin is gay, wouldn't you be? then again, who knows whether it is environmental or genetic? :eek: entering deep philosophical waters...

If it was entirely genetic wouldn't the gene, over time, have slowly died out? I know that some gay people do have kids, but overall, statistically, I'd have thought such a gene would kinda select itself out of the pool!

Same, in that case, with genetic mental/physical disability surely? It depends how recessive the gene is - I'm also thinking like the albino gene...

Yeah, of course, and there are those genetic disabilities that cause the bearer to be sterile!

I just didn't want to be the first to suggest that the gay gene (if one exists) is due to a mutation from the norm... :eek: ;)

Well, let's face it - in pure biological terms, it isn't "normal", is it? If an organisms purpose on the planet is to ensure the continuity of the species than if homosexuality is genetic it isn't normal.
That isn't to say that being gay is deviant or abnormal in sociological, moral or ethical terms of course.

On a different tack...

Did you see the article in the paper about the black woman born to white parents? Apparently the black gene had recessed for about 3 generations! I didn't think that was possible with such a strong gene - afterall, black is dominent over white. Amazing really - and the worst thing was that the poor woman was born into apartheid South Africa.
Of all the places at all the times in history... You can imagine the problems
(btw genetic tests prved that she was the biological offspring of the two white parents, so it wasn't even as tho the mother had been ordering more than a pint of semi skimmed a day :rolleyes: )
