How difficult is it on an s12 to have head to manifold bolts redrilled? Or is it best just to stick another head on it? Or is it best jus not to bother getting the car in the first place?

cheers :)

if you take off the exhaust manifold and take out all the studs you should be able to get a engineer out to hella coil them for about £9 each there will be 6
I think SE NISSAN charge about £ 8.50 / 9.00 per coil
the s12 is renowned for stripping exhaust manifold studs
also if you do get the hella coils done its worth getting new manifold gaskets, there about £4 each from NISSAN there will be 2
I bet the car you are after buying is white big rear spoiler and on ebay

correctomundo ;)

cheers for the info :)

Im just after it as a spare car for now with a view to turning it into a track car in the near future. Have always liked em so thought why not.

So its not a case of head off to get to em then?

Cheers

I had a bit of bother with a head i got from breakers 3 of the manifold studs were just spinning in the head.
I drilled out the offending holes and re-tapped them I used 10ml all thred cut up to make new studs.
It worked so well I did the same with all the other studs aswell

If you want helicoiling done in Essex. There is a BMW workshop in Heybridge (Next Door to where SE get their machining done) that does helicoiling real cheap.
