Yeh, I can't help it. Everyone was telling me to the preorder the thing online so it comes through the day before or on the day, but if it never came through I would NEED to go to the shops and get a copy on the 29th then I would be out of pocket.:(

In Mafia Work and Team Mafia Work, you play as one of Kenny Petrovic's mafia henchmen. You must complete hits ordered by the boss (via the cellphone) before your rivals are able to do so.
A single-player mission called "Hangman's NOOSE" features co-op. You and your friends will be able to escort a mobster, while being pursused by a SWAT team.
The map used in multiplayer is the same map that is used for single player.

Did you get a chance to play much multiplayer? Did you get your ass kicked by the Rockstar guys?
Yes, Xbox World 360 actually snagged a whole day playing against Rockstar PRs and devs in a exclusive feature a month or so back. Rather than simply go with the whole Deathmatch and Capture the Flag stuff, they've genuinely taken their time creating some amazing new modes that'll do the business online. Mafiya (a chaotic, mission based affair), Cops 'n' Crooks (one team try to capture the other) and Hangman's Noose (players team up to take an army of AI SWAT troops) were our personal faves...

I'd love to see the actual game and not all these cinematic trailers. I do wonder how jerky and slow the actual game is. I just hate these days of not showing some direct gameplay :whip:
rockstar have always used in game engine for its cinematics so it should pretty darn close if not exactly the same.
and most previews have said it runs realy smooth on both consoles :nod:

agreed, The GTA series is one of those few sets of games that actually plays the same as the Cinematography that goes with it, for that very reason that they use the same engine.

Yeh, don't go to Game. They said they could not guarantee me a copy on the day and I could register interest, like wtf! I am interested. I want a copy when it somes out dam it. So I went to Game Station and they said they will have a copy for me for the midnight launch.:D

If you have paid for the platinum healthcare package, they send a busty nurse in a little outfit round to your house, and bends over next to you whilst you play and does the button your right index finger would normally cover.
Its just a gesture though really, as I doubt your GTA would impove with a her bent over in that low cut nurses outfit

The only game I ever completed 100% was street fighter II turbo on the snes :wack:

yeah, I think i'll try limit myself to little sessions :wack: make the experience last longer, though it doesn't necessarily sound like it's going to be a problem with the length of gameplay thats being banded about.

I've always had playstations but i wasn't going to pay out for a PS3! the xbox is just as good and has more downloads for GTA. you can always change the buttons to suit you:nod:

Yeah all standard TV connections included with all xboxes. composite / scart etc.
The elites come with a component thrown in.
Have a look at play.com they tend to have the best prices. :)
Should be at least £100 cheaper than the PS3 bundle.

Also the new xbox controllers aren't like the first xbox system ones. 360 ones are much better. Really feel solid and well built too.

The PS3 pad feels like it would break very soon in my angry hands.
I use a 360 pad with a chatpad attached. That feels much more robust, and it looks kinda like an Atari Jaguar pad :wack:

That's what I was wondering.
I began to daydream and now hope it's going to be like this:
- Can you walk into the Police station and sign up to be a cop, and hunt any crims down? E.g. If i'm playing on the mulitplayer map and go on a killing spree, can I expect loads of "real" police to come and get me?
- Can I just be a Taxi driver?
- Can I become a bounty hunter? If I see someone who's just go on a killing spree, can I grab 'em and claim a reward?

But.... does anyone know if the multiplayer is only online? It sounds like it is but i really hope there is some split screen multiplayer.

It is a 20% off code, not an xbox specific deal, I don't see why you couldn't use the given code on a PS3. That said I don't know how competitive their prices are on PS3 to start with.

'tis a bit of a bonkers release date - it could be very, very clever marketing - advertise the release date as 29th, then suddendly a massive surge when people realise its actually released 'by accident' on 25th - thus word spreading like wild fire and people going mental trying to get hold of a copy
Not that clever when loads of people who have pre-ordered for the 29th can't get to the shop they've pre-ordered from until the 29th :wack:

Would be an odd idea - as it hardly needs anymore hyping
I used to work in Blockbuster Video a few years ago, and we always had the stock ready to go on the shelves for early sales. If one retailer puts the item on sale then its like wildfire for all the stores. I'm gonna keep a close eye on sales, as i really dont wanna miss out on a copy.

There used to be a little independant shop in Norwich. I knew a couple of staff who worked there. I always used to get my big games before the release date, if they had them.
Shame they went bust :(
I'll be scouring the shops tomorrow. Tuesday is an odd day to release a game on, but most people have been paid by then.
I've got a game early in the past by telling 2 different shops that the other was already selling it before :D

I got a game early before from PC World.
I rang their helpdesk to check if they had stock, they said they did, so I travelled over.
They told me I couldn't have it, I got the assistant manager, then manager before eventually being allowed to buy the game :) (3 days before their general release)

I work at Game and GTA is released on Tuesday 29th, its a weird time as we agree in the store but thats down to Rockstar. No one knows why but some say because people get paid at the end of the month.
We are open at midnight on Monday for people who have pre-ordered it

I work at Game and GTA is released on Tuesday 29th, its a weird time as we agree in the store but thats down to Rockstar. No one knows why but some say because people get paid at the end of the month.
We are open at midnight on Monday for people who have pre-ordered it
Do you have them instore yet?
There used to be a little independant shop in Norwich. I knew a couple of staff who worked there. I always used to get my big games before the release date, if they had them.
Shame they went bust :(

Damn. I recoken thats a pretty good measure to say it's not out until Tuesday. That would be some delivery if they were to ship to all stores selling the items this evening.
I could imagine the likes of Play being sneaking with pre-releases as they are compaines registered abroad - and who are they going to upset? English based stores?! who cares they've probably already upset them by undercutting their price.

Had a word with a bloke in our local Game. I got a stonyfaced reply of 'not until Tuesday' he did inform me that they were opening at midnight. I said 'I'm not that sad!' followed by more stonyfacedness :wack:

it just says processing for my pre-order from play, but when i have pre-ordered stuff from them before i have always got it before the release date, so hope it happens this time also.

The charactor movement is really natural feeling, vehicle damage etc all ace :D
Even just the way the road is lumpy shows just how much detail there is in it...

I'm on 360 - piece of cake to flash it, takes about 20 mins tops if you know what you're doing, including dismantling and reassembling it.

So I would stick with what you have got, unless you want the episodic content in August too.

There are load times when you start the game up which are a pain in the arse. Once you're into the game there aren't any :no:

In the first few missions, you have to rescue Roman from a couple of loan sharks who are beating him up in a basketball court - after you beat them up you have to chase some other bloke (Dardan or something, I forget) when he drives off, that's where you get your first weapon :nod:
All I want to know is, why has no one broken the street date! gits!
Just checked my play.com account, and the status has gone from 'packing' to 'processing' I hope that processing means being personally driven to my front door to hand deliver it to me because they know how much I want it, but somehow I doubt it :wack:

Great game.
The driving takes a while to get used to as the cars understeers pretty much.
You actually have to brake before corners now and unless you're in a good sports-car you can't take the corners very fast.
Outrunning cops aren't that difficult unless there are many after you.
I haven't managed to outrun the helicopter.
If anyone know how to loose the cops once they have the helicopter on your tale let me know.
weapons sound is much better compared to Previous games.
I've just settled in on the second Island :)
Edit: Don't know if it's a bug or my controller playing up, but sometimes I can't use the handbrake.
Oh and the brakes are crap on all cars I've tested in the game. huge stopping distance.
In a gunfight you can take cover behind things which is good. The AI will also use this feature so gunfights last a bit longer as enemies takes cover behind cars and stuff.
there are also some "mini-games" in the game which you can take your date or friends too.
I've tried bowling, dart and pool.

don't need to bullshit, would post pic's up but what's the point. Following on from voodoo melon you chase darden on the roof and take him out there. When you start doing missions for dimitri in the mansion thats when the s14a front end motors turn up.
Mine is showing as despatched yesterday, so hopefully it'll be here tomorrow/monday (If it has actually been depsatched yet)

Just got back from my little mission. First morrisons didnt have it in an wouldnt be taking delivery of stock until friday? Next one had it on the shelf, I could have almost leaned over and grabbed it but they werent letting it go either :( I also tried to sweet talk the bloke in woolies, but he wouldnt either. There also doesnt seem to be such a thing as a small independant games store anymore, they have all gone bust round here :( :(
all we have in town is the usal wollies, smiths, game, and so on, but we do have a chips :wack: more of a franchise so il try them tomorow morning :)
Tesco's round here havent even got them in stock and are only expecting to get 10 copies..........now i'm panicking.
I managed to get my name down on the pre order list for HMV. After asking in all the game stores, etc I was fearing the worst. The bigger game said they were getting 240 in and they were all pre ordered, non going on general sale.
