My mate has a Soup turbo in his w'shop at the mo'.He has stated the blower is apparently "f@cking huge mate, honestly,i bet yours would go like a bastid with one on"
So, anyone know about this CT26?these are the only details he could get off it.How much boost can they hold?Is there a Garrett equivelant to size?Is it possible to fit one if it was worth it?
Cheers for any advise peeps, these just seem readily available though as there are millions about.
:D:D:D

Apparently it isn't big enough...... Not for him anyway ;)

Keith_C might know a bit about it, something to do with washers and stuff.

CT26 is a difficult turbo to compare, mainly 'cos Toyota are very cagey about releasing flow maps and suchlike. Therefore it is not easy to compare this turbo to anything Garret for example churn out. I suppose compressor size wise its roughly compareable to a T3, although it tends to run out of puff at around 15psi, which is why I want a hybrid or SP61 as soon as I can afford it. Also, CT26 is a top-mount design, at least this is the Toyota fitment, not sure about whether manifold flange etc. is standard. For 200 use, probably better to consider a Cossy T3 or something.

15psi on a 3-litre engine remember. Having said that, from memory it's a bit of a lardy turbo, so a 200 trying to get it up to speed wouldn't find it funny.

Probably not a great idea - it's a turbo designed to provide low boost to a large, low revving, torquey engine, and you're wanting to use it in exactly the *opposite* way.

Ash - are you ever gonna let me forget that. Thing *still* runs, despite the best efforts of me, Dave *and* Gawaine, so :p

I thought the MR2 Turbo (well at least the rev 1) also used the CT26 turbo?

I seem to remember seeing that stamped on the turbo of my mates rev1, and thats quite a revvy 4 pot (though not 1800 obviously)

Cheers, Phil
