View Full Version : heard a few rumours last night
from a blokey at work who was chatting to a car dealer mate of his: the governing bodies are planning a BIG change in the way you tax, ins and mot your car.they want you to have it all linked to the same day, ie, when your mot is due, so will your tax and ins. one big bill. and on the subject of mot, apparently they want to bring in a new system by which, when your due date is approaching, you ring a hotline number (dvla) who then book your car for a test and tell you where its got to go to have it done. i bit of an eye opener i thought, that beside the fact that all mot centres will be linked via pc to dvla from next year....... wheres it all going to end:( :(
I don't like the sound of having all on the same day! I deliberately stagger mine so as not to get a big bill.
I also don't like the idea of being told where to take my car fo mot
I take it that they haven't thought about whether we can take time off work to go and get it done where THEY want, but then thats hardly surprising is it  , I would imagine that most people that drive to work have it done in their local work garage (I do anyway). I also expect that there will be a huge rise in the cost of an MOT as well to cover 'administration' charges. all I have to say to that is f*** off DVLA
OK whinge over:) :) :)
