Did anyone here go?
If you are into fast as fcuk drum and bass try and get to one of the RAM Records nights (Andy C, Mampi Swift, Hype and DJ Fresh) at The End, West central street.
They seem to be about every 2/3 months. If you go buy a ticket from The End's web site as you don't have to queue hardly. Tickets are about £12.
Awesome.
Check out their Stuff at www.ramrecords.com

Pretty cool, no frills really but no attitude as such though that is due to what audience it is, there wasn't really any the other night, decent chill out that's got A/C shit and hot sound systems in both rooms. :)
Mr C from the Shamen is either the owner or part owner of it.
I like 'no-frills' venues. The Void at Stoke basically looks like a dark black hole with wicked kick-ass sound system. Adds to the atmosphere if you ask me - and like you say, you don't get the attitude of some people.

Me too black holes are cool for any kind of club/gig, did you ever go to the Eclipse?
It's not particularly big but they do control the numbers and they do a 1 in 1 out thing once it's full, that's why get a ticket.
Fisrt time my mate went he queued until 2am.
It's also pretty clean, or at least is when you get in, soon becomes a sweaty steam room with sticky floor LOL.
I reckon you'd like it, the DJ stage is right at the front of hte dance floor and they are about on hte same level as the dance floor so you can see exactly what's going on.
lol. Yeh, sticky floors and dripping ceilings - sounds like The Void! :D None of that posh plasma screened walls and carpet floors crap you get with handbag clubs! lol
Never bin to Eclipse - TBH, I haven't been out much the last few months with final year of uni n that. Went out virtually every week though when on my placement year last year. Just can't afford now that I'm jobless. :(

That's the first proper all nigher I've been to for about 6-7 years, it kinda got a bit shit and over popular so just got bored of it, and the D&B back then wasn't so good but was getting played all the time, I prefered the harder techno but it wasn't too popular. Also there seemed to be an attitude problem at the time and clubs I went to, I reckon it was the D&B crowd, they were always pretty moody back then.
Drum and Bass is nuts. I spent an hr in the Drum and Bass tent a Creamfields a couple of years back - I think I lost 2 stone in there!! :D The MCs were a killer too. :D

It's Andy C's set from Feb this year, pretty hectic, this is what Friday was like apart from hype who was a bit tamer and Mampi Swift who was just full on mental. :D:D
if you go to here www.breakbeat.co.uk and have a poke around there is loads of streamable stuff, whole sets etc.
Cool. I'll av a butchers. :)

PS i know what your mean about the rowdy people that was about in 96-97 when alot of the music was more ragga/regga orintneted (spelling :() and you used to get alot of gunmans especially on sets where Trigger, BASS, parmer the charmer where involded, i actually have a tape somewhere where you actually here gun shots (think its historia). BASSMAN is actually a girl i used to go to school with UNCLE and is part of the Burger bar crew (which probably wont mean anything usless your local to birmingham) it had his own event a couple of weeks back as his has only just came out of prision

Wasn't the Burger Bar Crew alleged to have something to do with the new years party shootings?

i am afraid so mate:( they has been years or rivalry between the burger bar crew BBc (i think they called them the burger bar boys on the tele :)) and the johnsons crew (johny's)
not very nice people at all really, i have a few friend and know a few people from Aston, W. green, nechells and surround area, and it is not a very nice place, I have a few friend who go on the radio and in the past me and me brother have been the only white people around for miles:eek: and people have been coming up to me saying i'm either mad or dont give a F*CK. In a place near the city centre there is a place (will find the name out) where her are big signs saying no whites allowed after 10pm:eek:
