Car track days are 170quid. You can take your own car round, but you can also go out with the instructors to fine tune your lap times.

Will include JDM cars, mainly EVO's and Subaru's but there are some bookable 'open' slots available.

They sometimes have 'open' sessions at the end of the day at the following:
Saturday, September 6, 2008 Eurofest Action Day
Saturday, September 27, 2008 Miniworld Action day
Track slots cannot be booked in advance for this, mainly because it's a mini day! However I have spoken to them and they will probably have a slot at the end of the day for non mini's. This will be a pay on the day, and will cost £30 for a 20 minute session.
£10 entrance

Action Day track sessions are £25-£30. A bargain and great day out.


Other car clubs have their own days, RS owners, Audi International, Porsche Club, Lotus Club.

For us to hire the track I think we would need at lest 20 people. At that figure the individual cost would be 170GBP, but will need to confirm all this. I will probably try and arrange something for next year.

We can get club stands at the Action Days, they're normally a pretty good day out :)

Perhaps one of our area reps can give them a call and enquire?

yeah ill be up for a meet there only live 5mins up the road. good place 2 meet some of u aswell. ill keep my eye on this:D nice track aswell ive done a
few track days there before, iirc its £165 for a whole day and 95db noise limit (dont qoute me on that)but the mods may get us a discount i guess:thumbs:

I will look into it, but not sure how many would be up for it as we have the 3 local meets and shakespeare county raceway in April

If its an organised event I can get sometimes get a bit of cash from the sxoc to go towards ticket prices, but only applies to paid up members, I would have though Castle Coombe have a set price for club stands and track time that would not be negotiable, but I will contact them and see what they can do

I'll be at the April Performance Action Day regardless, I go every year. I did organise a stand one year, you get a discount on track time too :)

If we opened it up to the whole club we might be able to fill a session maybe? Must be enough people wanting to practice before Japfest ;)

I may go out anyway, but the standard of driving in the open sessions is somewhat scary...

The cost of hiring Combe exclusively are rather extreme to say the least :eek:

when I spoke to them on the phone they said it was from £3,5000 for the whole day so it wouldn't be too bad in a big group would have lots of track time also!

I would like a few runs before japfest though.

performance action day is a definate for me too.

The Action Days are the best. These are days when you can book track slots for 25quid. Bargain.

Most have already happened. I'll update Shortcuts first post in a minute with the links from each of the events. There's normally a seperate thread under the West Country section for each event before it happens.

Let me know if you want to book track time for an event and I can sort it.

I can't keep away from the place at the mo! 3 Track days in 3 months!!

I should be able to arrange an SXOC stand at the Performance Car Action Day next year.

I spoke to Castle Combe again today in an attempt to book a track pass for the mini action day:D, might as well seeing as we have the rolling road session booked for that day and as it's right outside the circuit:wack:

They will have a non-mini 'open session' at the end of the day which I can pay for on the day, £30 track, £10 entrance. Anyone tempted to join me?

Can't gurentee getting on track. They did say they obviously have track slots dedicated to the various mini groups, but they always try to run a non mini session at the end of the day for those wanting to go on but don't have mini's.

They said it shouldn't be a problem and can be paid for on the day. I'll probably go over around midday to try and book something then.
