What is the noticable difference between a 5400rpm and a 7200rpm HDD? Do things visabliy take longer?

12ms as opposed to 10ms seek time btw

Depends what you are doing. If it loading one big file it wont be much diffrent. If it having to get lots of little files or bigger files fragmented all over the place it will be quicker as the seek times are lower. Makes more noticable noice and heat than a 5k one though....
