i know its possibally one of the most depressing cruises in the country but there are a few decent people who go there. im thinking about going along tonight with my friend in a celica gt4. (me in the 200 sx s13)
if anybody is not doing anything i thought it could be an idea to see if we can get a little gathering going and possibally make it a regular:D

never ever will I go to the Cheltenham "cruise" too many in fact most are dickheads, & too many police. Yep that sounds harsh but I have had trouble with that lot, even the chap who set up has had enough, and so have the residents of Cheltenham, In fact it got to the point where most people I know with decent cars do not even drive them in Cheltenham on a Sunday night.
I wish I could use my powers to delete this thread but as it only my view I cant!!!

to be honest yeah like i said it is the large majority that are idiots guys but at the end of the day there are people there who are not like that. me and my little bunch just stand around laughing at them lot, just another time and place to meet up.
I wouldnt even think of going anywhere near town on a sunday with the nissan unless i had too.
Apart from the cocks who gave everyone a bad name with a modified car who race around town in their 400bhp corsas and novas, theres no point in giving the police a reason to stop you. Because they will!
Meet us at the old spot every first saturday of the month instead :thumbs:

the monthly meets are friendly and you will get all the advice you need normally, you wont be on your "larry" we all had to go for the first time once:thumbs: But is nothing like a cruise, its an owners club meeting where we have to drive and behave respectfully so we do not get banned from using the venue as a meeting point, we are not into doing donuts, burnouts etc, we are just enthusiastic about our cars (not meaning we are all boring!!! we all have a play but at the right time and place;))

no drag will be tolerated at local meets, and yes that especially includes wearing a your girlfriends underwear! (its in the club handbook somewhere I am sure:wack:)
Seriously Watsy26, if you want to meet other owners have a beer and learn how to modify/care for your sx the local meets are the way to go,:sxoc: if you want to race then pay up for membership and have some track time at japfest etc at discounted rates, save it for the track or other events.
I sound like a right miserable git ffs!!!!!!!!! lol (but like I said before, there is a time and a place and I am sure we all make our cars faster for a reason;) but I have to write this stuff as area rep as club rules are quite clear that we dont condone any type of illegal activity:thumbs:

there all worth going to , but if you looking to record a good 1/4 mile time then the best 1 would be the oct 1 ,cooler air temps = quicker car ,
but there all a good laugh if a few of you go , put a fiver in ther hat and the 1 who runs the the best set times of the day takes all .. only down side is they gotta buy te 1st round lol

adey goes chelt cruise, same as geo (s14) and jon200 from here with myself, i got and sit with the cool kids. lmao (that includes u adey) im the one with the pink plaster on my car, thanks to adey. its all good though mate, u will get along with everyone on this site, everyones a good laugh and no one makes u feel unwelcome.

With my car, this is an estimate as to what will happen.
a) Ill blow the gearbox to pieces
b) Ill blow the clutch to pieces
c) It'll wheelspin in every gear (suspension too hard)
d) It'll det it balls off and blow the motor to bits
Sounds fun! Id love to get it finished and see what will happen but im at the stage where i dont want to spend any money on it. Its a sad, sad time :(

Im a mechanic by trade so im ok with that side of things. I just need to save the pennies!
and saving the pennies for clacky is too hard, lol he likes spending money too much on everything else but the 200. lol

:D Come on Ad, you don't really have much to do to it. OK your suspension is hard like most SXs on this site, just get some new springs mate. You won't feel the suspension on a drag strip anyway:nod: Stop talking yourself out of it:ghey: Put your hand in your pocket and lets have a "finish squirts car" day! You only have to buy stuff once:nod: (apart from those springs lol) and you'll get so much more out of your car when it's like it should be:nod::D

Twenty-nine cruisers will be hauled before the courts in a clampdown on boy-racers.Drivers face a range of charges, including speeding and failing to produce documents.
One was allegedly caught flying around the ring road at more than 60mph twice in one night.
Another was repeatedly stopped after he was caught allegedly breaking the speed limit five times in Bath Road.
High-powered cars with loud exhausts and thumping music have plagued the town's ring road for years.
The Echo has been flooded with letters from furious residents who say the souped-up vehicles have made their lives a misery.
Drivers from across the county descend on the loop road on Sunday nights to show off high-speed cars and sometimes race each other.
The court appearances are the result of a police blitz carried out in November.
Operation Highlander II stopped 49 drivers in a single night. Nineteen of these will appear in court.
Police in high-visibility clothing conducted speed checks in the Tewkesbury Road area and Kingsditch Lane between 5.45pm and 7pm and stopped nine drivers in November. Later that night, between 8.20pm and 11.05pm, undercover officers carried out covert checks in the Bath Road area, where 40 vehicles were believed to be exceeding the speed limit.
The sting followed a previous operation in September where more than 100 drivers were stopped.
Radical new plans to kick nuisance drivers out of the town were unveiled in September.
Officers announced they would kick out cars driving in a convoy of more than five cars.
Another operation was carried out in December, which saw 12 drivers stopped. Ten are expected to face the courts in June.
Eighteen drivers will appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on April 8, one on May 20 and a further 10 in June.
A police spokeswoman said: "These alleged offenders were all caught during Operation Highlander II.
"This is an operation aimed at tackling those who speed in the town centre at the weekends.
"We hope this is reassurance for those who are living and working in the area that this problem is being taken seriously and we will be pushing for the toughest penalties against those who drive dangerously in the town.
"I also want it to be a warning to anyone who thinks they can come to Cheltenham Town Centre and drive at dangerous speeds, it is not acceptable, we will not tolerate it and we will be running these operations on a regular basis so you will be caught."
