hi all who would be up for a eastmids/leicestershire meet around april time?:)

i thought a good place would be the sixhills hotel on the a46(foss) near melton....easy to get to and big enough for loads of cars. i go there for my japmids.com meet every month...

i think there are quite a few people from derby and notts so that isnt too far away from them...

think ill be coming to a few meets when ive sorted all my bits out

i was thinking april 13th (sunday). i know some of you will be at shakespere raceway for the pro street drag racing on the 6th april including myself so i thought the 13th would be a good date for a meet (a week after pro sreet drag):thumbs:

why not have an east mids awayday and all meet at shakespeare for the racing on the 6th April :sxoc:

thats a good idea...but im not sure if everyone wants to do that or just meet in a pub carpark for a bit of banter and a few softdrinks:)

I'm all for people trying to sorts more local meets out and encourage the overall SXOC presence in the East Midlands area, in addition to the meets and events that I already try to arrange :nod:, and try and get to as many meets as I can.

The only thing I would say is that it is very difficult to get everyone together as, at the moment, the active local members of this forum are quite widely spaced throughout the East Midlands :nod:.

If you're close to Leicester then the weekly "West Midlands" at the Hinckley Knight is already very popular and pretty local too. Alternatively, there are already plans for a Derby meet in March and I'll be looking to start the Nottingham meets shortly, after the RR day :thumbs:.

I'm not trying to put you off, and I'd certainly attend a Leicester meet, but from experience it is quite tough to get everyone to agree on a date / time and venue.

Sounds like a cracking idea to me Jon - perhaps we could do East vs. West?

Did you want me to get a thread up in both regions and get the ball rolling on this or did you want to do it and I'll get them stickied for you? I'll try and do a small image banner that people can include in their sigs (should have done that for the RR day really).

I think the 6th April is a Pro-Street warm-up, and the Japmids lot have planned a massive thing that weekend as well
