Well our working day was done so it was time for some fun! me,N200 and Bristol Blue on here decided to go on a little drive to ashton court:thumbs:

I also got to drive a stage 3a spec s14a(N200's car-approx 370bhp-ish at the mo)and JEEESSSUUUSSS it's a complete and utter animal on boost! made me realise just how much these things are capable of:eek:

Here's some pics, see if you can spot which one doesn't have it's coilovers fitted yet:o......

I wouldn't have it any other way in my old 14a :D
That was only 300bhp but so much fun :smitten:

:notworthy to N200 for not taking the not :ghey: route

Absolutely. Though I think his dying clutch is his saving grace!!

Wouldn't have thought the clutch to be too stressed tbh, the tires should give in first :wack:

He was saying it would slip in third upwards, however N200 does seem to get better traction to me though and I can't work out why. I'm on a std turbo (1.15bar boost) Matt is on a 2871.

I have Tein coilevers and ARB's that Jez recently set-up, inc alignment and corner weighting.

Could be a combination of things.
His knackered clutch?
His tyres being warmer?
My boost kicks in with extreame savagery, once he has got through his lag, his boost is delivered smoothly.

That was good fun, an excellent trip out. I was amazed that we all managed to stay in convoy, there and back and at times in heavy traffic.

Glad we found that road on the way back.

Maybe he has softer suspension? Although the smoother power delivery would certainly help.
I have to be making at least the expected 200bhp you'd expect from a standard redtop but have trouble making the wheels do more than squeek :wack:
The Westfield has almost instant throttle response and will spin up quite happily in 1st, 2nd, and on cold days 3rd without me having to even dip the clutch. :smitten:
If I apply the same throttle more smoothly I don't have (as much) as a problem :)

When my 14a was running at a bar on it's standard turbo that would spin up for a pasttime too - think the record was getting the rears to light up when I booted it in 4th while already doing 100 (kph obviously ;) ) :wack:
Got to be smoothness is the issue

Bristol Blue

Smootness:nod: Got to be I guess.

Never had spin in 4th though. Though with these cold roads at the moment I have to anticipate it spinning in third. (Straight line!!)

Doubt his suspension is softer and we're both on newish 205/55 Goodyear Eagle F1's.

Don't know why mine doesn't spin so easily - but the clutch problem will be sorted very soon. Then I'll be throwing out the old cams . . . then it'll be time for the brakes/wheels.

We're always up for going for a spin, so if anyone can't wait till the next meet, and the weather's nice, stick up a post and we'll sort it out.

And maybe Jim will have may car washed by then . . . !!
