Have a look at this scoobynet post (http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=183708) ..(2nd post) Aparantly the S13 engines are flawed in that the cylinder walls wear with age:confused:  Have'nt heard that one before?

All cyl. walls wear with age... ESPECIALLY boxer motors. In actuality the "square" bore x stroke of the SR should show the most wear on the walls.

Looks like they know there stuff to me, not sure about the cylinder wear though as I've never heard of it. Maybee the guy has had experience with the ca18det that we havent. Decent bunch of lads on the scoob board though.

Yeah they are a good bunch. I still try and get to the Yorkshire scoob meets if i can get the time.
Must admit though, a lot of scoob owners think their cars are better than anything on the road (though i'm sure there are some 200 owners who think the same). Scoobs are bloody quick and thats about all i can think of that puts them above any other car. I think some scoob owners tend to forget that from time to time.
There are a few guys who go to the yorkshire meets who don't actually rate the impreza that highly. The only reason they have one is that it's the quickest and best handling car you can buy for under 7 grand. Many know fine well that scoobs have awful interiors, aren't as reliable as they are made out to be, and despite the vents and spoilers, it's still a 4 door saloon/5 door hatch car that was built to cart sheep around.
Still a nice (and often very knowledgable) bunch of guys though :D
hey jeremy, didn't i used to work with you at S&L
