I got bored playing on my own as my raiding guild migrated servers as I had uni i didnt follow. Looking really for a couple of guys to play with (no pun intended)

During the trail period yes. Or you can mess with your client to connect to a free server someone is running but it'll be shit. Buggy, missing quests and most importantly missing all of the other people!

Dont play as much now as i used to a few months back but still love playing and try to get a few hours in most weeks :thumbs:

My advice is "don't do it", actually :wack: For the last 18 months I've been online virtually all the time - great fun for a saddo like me who lives on her own, but pretty sad if you have anything else going on in your life that you want to spend time on :D

Thats not far off, it can be a digital heroin to some people as its easy to succumb to the pressure to progress and to be at the leading edge of the gear arms race.

Yes it is but is a little buggy as mentioned before, it really depends on the server you choose, we play on Ravencrest (its been active for over 2 years) there are approx 150 to 250 players online most days.

The server supports the latest game version of WoW TBC (The Burning crusade) V2.3.3.

Once you have installed and updated your client you will need to register here:

You will need to activate the account by responding to the email that will be sent (dont use a hotmail account).

The only change you have to make is the realmlist (server address), this is done by editing the standard realmlist (c:/program files/world of warcraft/realmlist) using notepad and changing it to:

set realmlist server.ravencrest.nl

The server runs a WoW emulator and doesnt use any Blizzard coding.

If anyone joins up please let me know and we (my wife and father play most days) will come and assist with advice, items and currency etc (thats as long as you play an Horde character).........the Alliance are Gay:ghey:.......lol......Long live the Horde :clap:

Its a great game to waste time on, ya can get very caught up on lvl'ing, let alone playing 3-5+ hours doing instances.

I dont play too seriously just play for laughs - saying that i started a 'quick' blast last sunday morning at 8am and before i knew it - it was suddenly 4pm lol

I manage to balance my personal life and WoW - it just takes some planning! :)

I'll play 2 or maybe 3 days a week. Maybe 4 hours a session, then dedicate the rest of my time to my wife :)

Luckily our guild isn't a hardcore full-time jobless wonders guild, so it's geared towards the casual player. And we still make good progress, having cleared everything we've come across, and now making good progress in ZA :)

I agree its an old game, but theirs life in the old dog yet :) Warhammer certainly looks very nice, but my pc is old so without spending a fair amount of cash theres no way I could run it although id like to try it. WoW is still the most accesible for those of us with crap PC's :D

Is there some problem with WoW?

Every 4 days i try to log into the normal server but now i get the Language preference and Realm Style box. In order to move on i have to tick the language box to Development and then i have to ask it to suggest a realm. When the realm box opens, it is empty. Im not able to do anything, i cant even play the game. Twice now...this makes me :mad: I re-installed it before and i dont want to do it again as it takes forever to do.

Any ideas??

But Warhammer dose have a quick swap graphics setting thing. Very useful when over 250 Alliance/destruction players all in the same room.

Since playing the RvR (PvP) side of Warhammer, I don't think I will be able to go back to Warcraft (Unless they copy them and do something along the same lines ;))

I wanna try Warhammer but due to various reasons etc I decided to ditch PC gaming and move to PS3 only as I cba with PC upgrades and stuff and swapped to a new top of range 24" iMac... funnily enough it runs WoW on top settings super smooth LOL but WAR is not Mac compatible, I created a Virtual Machine to run it but it runs pants so havent even played!

looks like a good game tho, hopefully they add a Mac patch like WoW eventually did, that would be cool

i think my real is pretty good, its a Normal realm but the PvP scene in BG's is active as hell, in a good guild too but they aren't very PvP oriented! we do decent raids tho, completed Naxx 10 man

Nice achievement, Ant :thumbs: Quite a few of my guild have done the Horde leaders (yep, we're Ally) but I haven't got round to it yet... do want that mount tho'!

We completed Naxx 10 over christmas - guild let me have the Malygos key but our first try at that ended in dismal failure. Guess I'll try to arrange a few more runs over the next couple of weeks for practise: he'll be down soon. We also had our first try at the Obsidian Sanctum - tried to leave one of the drakes up but that didn't work too well - got him down with no drakes alive though, which is pleasing :)

We seem to be pretty solid on the 10-mans now but need to recruit more good people for 25-mans (healers & dps) - Dark Souls on Kilrogg if anyone really wants a change :Plug:

Nice to have things to do again tbh. When I get bored of my rogue I have three others to get from 70 to 80 too, so looks like I'm going to be pretty busy this year!

i've got my druid up to 80 (feral dps/tank) but have decided to concentrate on levelling my paladin next as the guild is short of healers, started off at 40 before christmas and just got to 60

got my deathknight to honor hold and left him in the inn to start questing with him (level 58/59 i think) and havent touched my rogue which was my other level 70

Our guild's MT, our #1 mage and me on my rogue have been 3-manning Ony (no healer :eek:). Very hard going and we usually wipe once before we get her down, but 50G each for not much work is pretty good.. and it's nice to have the challenge. Keep at it Dave, I'm sure you'll get there in the end :)

(The healers are never online when we want to go, before you ask!)

Taking a break from repping up the rogue to level my herbalist warlock. She moved to Northrend at lv 69 & has been finding it tough going altho the exp out there is fantastic, close on a bubble per quest :thumbs: Dinged 70 last night and I'll keep her going till lvl 74 before parking her up again since by then she should be tough enough to 'erb in most zones.

I've found levelling in Northrend ridiculously fast (for me) as an Affliction warlock, loving it :D

I have the achievements for "Howling Fjord", "Borean Tundra", "Dragonblight" and "Grizzly Hills" so far, I'm hooked :D

I've gone from only just 68 to 78 & 1/3rd in those zones.

Stick with it mate.

There is alot of running untill you get to lvl 30 iirc then you can have a steed. Look out for Flight Paths also, they make life easier.

Once you get your mount it will be alot quicker getting around.

My wife has just started playing, she loves it. Before playing she thought it was geeky and sad, but she is getting into it now.

Bah. We've been teaming with another guild 'cos we lack numbers for the heroic raids - 3/4 Naxx HC down but we haven't even tried OS HC yet.

Currently thinking of retiring the rogue till next patch - it was OK when I was one of the better geared but since everyone else caught up I'm slowly sliding down the meters.. need those changes coming in 3.1 to make me viable again :(

May end up rolling a couple of new alts on one of the servers mentioned here, or I might level the lvl 18 troll warrior I started last time there were problems with my main, we'll see :)

Update for us, guild has downed all bosses (and alot of hardmodes) in 10man Ulduar, we're upto Yoggy on 25man (have been for a while :whip: )

We res'd up behind the AH in a random house got spotted, buffed up and fought our way to the bank killed the bankers, and alot more allies... we then decided to go to the Tram and go to Ironforge, that was alot harder to play about in tho. So we went back to Stormwind and fought out way back to the AH. I frapd's alot of it but I cba to upload it coz I doubt many people wanna waste 16mins of their life watching us take on a million allies :P

One of the guys misses was an ally so he saw what all the Allies were saying in /2... someone said something along the lines of "we just owned the horde scum" and another said "no actually they owned us, I think I might reroll Horde and ask to join their guild" :D this isn't the first night we did it, well was for me, but some of the other guild has been doing it for a couple of nights.

Oh and todays fishing daily is in Wintergrasp, so we'll be there causing a few upside down smiles

You're fine Andy. Little down on dps maybe but that's 'cos the rest of us are Uldu-geared and you've missed out on most of that due to your rl problems. Yeah, maybe best said on guild forum but you bought it up here so I'm replying here :p

Watched the preview for the new expac tonight... think it's going to be interesting but also think the changes to Azeroth are going to upset me somewhat, things are going to look very different in the new world!
