Wasn't sure where to post this, so feel free to move it Mr Moderator:)

I have a Fiat Uno Turbo Mk2, that uses a standard Garrett T2. I've been told that the turbos on the S14 is a less laggy version of the T28 fitted to the Pulsar GTi-Rs. I've also been told that the S14 turbo will bolt straight on to the Uno manifold. Can anyone either verify this or correct me if I'm talking pants!

Have been looking into getting a late model S13 for quite a while, but my little Italian rust-bucket put in a 1/4 mile time of 15.414 @ 92mph at the weekend, so I may keep it for a bit:D

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Not 100% here, but the Silvia also used a T2 turbo as std, and I think the flanges are different from T2 to T28 / T25 (they are the same)

Think it may be a similar mod to fitting a T3 to a 200, Im prepared to be corrected though

Is it a big job getting a T3 onto a 200?
Cheers.

Sort of, you need to weld a bigger flange on the Manifold to accept the bigger tubby, the downpipe also needs altering as the exhaust side of the turbo is different.

You then need to mod the water and oil feeds to the turbo.

For an Uno, I guess the manifold would require altering for a bigger tubby (not too sure if this is different though, as mentioned above) the down pipe would need altering - 200s can use a cossie part of the downpipe (if the turbo is from a cossie) and weld it to the 200's exhaust.

As for oil and water, The oil lines will need altering, maybe replace the oil pipes with flexable braided jobbies, and the water cooling - you might get away with. As the engine is smaller, and its a bigger turbo, temps wont be as bad, so water cooling may not be totally needed :)

Also, is there physically enough room on the uno for the bigger turbo  The 200s require a little of the engine mount removing to fit - does the uno not thave the inlet and exhaust on the same side of the engine?

There should be plenty of room, once you get passed all the hoses the turbo has plenty of space all around it. Don't fancy all that work for a T3 though! Might look into fitting a T25/T28 as it seems an easier prospect. The T2 is just too small and I need to improve my quarter mile times on a Student loan budget:rolleyes:

Cheers for your help:)

P.S:- How much boost can the T25/28 handle. What is fitted as standard to the S13 and S14?

S13 T25 from SR20 = 14 psi max. (they dont live long at this boost pressure)
S14 T28 = 16 psi max. (they dont live long either)

You could get a hybrid T28 from Bren... it's new and will last alot longer. It will make more power and spool just as fast.

Do a forum search for 'Asbestos Hamsters' in the post fields.

That thread contains all you ever need to know about turbos....

Yeah, I'll have to ask him if it will fit without major work!
