I know it's a really boring subject but have any of you bought white goods from Empire Direct over the net and if so have you any experience or knowledge of what their aftersales service is like. I am thinking of getting a dishwasher, washing machine and fridgefreezer from them as they seem to be doing the best prices for Bosch and AEG goods. I do not however, want to be stuck with a broken down dishwasher and no one to fix it? As I know feck all about washing machines etc I do not want to be duped it to buying something that will unfold into a nightmare

Took me 3 months to get my Sony Flip down head unit, which broke after 6 weeks; then it took me 2 months to get my dishwasher from them.

In both instances they took the money up front. When I called up to chase the order it was hit & miss whether u got service.

With the dishwasher they billed my credit card twice & it took 7 phone calls, 2 emails & one letter to get them to agree to giving me the surplus back.

Don't think they are paricularly bad, I just don't think "lucky" would be a suitable nickname for me...! they were always poilte, its just how their business works I think a lot of their stuff is on back order so u often have to wait. Guess it's the trade off for their lower prices.

www.Unbeatable.co.uk is another similar one that u might want to try, I had better luck with them.

oh & the dishwasher was delivered by a couple of carneys in a vintage transit...!

"They only deliver on wednesdays to your area"... like yeah flip me I live 12 miles from central London, it is pretty much out in the sticks!!!

phew that feels better;)
