I posted a link to this yesterday but thought I better now put up a text version before the link (Western Mail newspaper) dies.

Basically if you get caught by a Gatso, etc you get a form to fill in saying who was driving. We've all seen the stories about people, who are not senior police officers, getting proscecuted if they 'can't remember' who was driving. Anyhow you MUST by law fill in and return the form.

However you cannot be forced to SIGN it. If you send it back unsigned and choose to have your case heard in court it CANNOT be used in evidence and the case is dismissed.

Apparently the police have been waiting to have this exposed for some time.
