View Full Version : S13 v S14 v S14a v Manual v Auto
First of all, this isn't a rant, and I'm not going to go waving the ban stick, but, there's been a bit too much of the old 'will-never-get-resolved-even-if-God-itself-joined-in' arguments flying around of late.
I'll admit that I laughed so hard it hurt at the recent Ripper v JB quote thread, and the traditional rivalry between the different types of car is part of the fun of coming here, but lets try to tone it down a bit eh? Aside from anything it can be confusing to newcomers to the board, and if you want arguments, I suggest 300ZX.co.uk ;)
Cheers

Light hearted banter never really did anybody any harm???
If there was no banter we'd all get bored. This is the type of thread that starts arguments suggest it disappears quick before war starts again, no better leave it on and see what you can start by trying to tone down site. If there is anymore tonning down then supply us with notebook pen and green waterproof jacket and we/ll make our way to paddington. :D  :D  :D  :D  :D :D
Sorry.....:( :( :( :( :( :(
Oh, and JB says sorry too (even though he doesn't know it yet;) ).

I Agree Ra Ra Ra !!! OOps :P
No - I'm saying the current level is fine - just don't think any more would be good.
I am sure we all agree Keith , sorry didn't mean to sound sarcastic.
Its a very valid point, a bit of friendly rivalry is fine but we don't want things getting out of hand.
Just keep it friendly and don't lower ourselves to the level of some other bulletin boards, mentioning no names :)
Oh:( I thought that by the title of the thread that this was another one of those arguments between us about the merits of each car and their gearboxes that would run for about 6-7 pages and never actually be resolved?? You mean it's not??;) There's not been one of those for about oooooh........two weeks!! ;)
s14+manual RULES! (Please don't ban me)

I agree. Those sort of arguments are terrible, and often people who are looking for support get shot down.
I for one left the cruiseboard.co.uk simply because every thread had a "my car is faster than yours" flavour to it, making the board useless!

I have to say that I'm quite suprised you posted the above as I remember you posted a number of "this vs that" type threads which are the very best way to start arguments.
s13 vs s14 (http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=25489) :p
200 vs nsx (http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=25557)
Ever raced a 300 (http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=25489)
Whats your sx beaten (http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21881)
Who's up for a race (http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26453)
etc etc etc
BTW My car is faster than yours. :)

I only take the micky out of sludgeomatics, I can't insult the manual S14 (transmission wise) because I have part of it's Drive train on mine....
So I have a manual hybrid S13/14 and am therefore above all reproach :)
However, I think Keith has a point, there is far too much banter, we need to be more like the ntoc...

you mean all of us swap our cars for datsun cherry's and not post anything interesting on the website for months at a time? ;) :D:D
Yes, that's the NTOC!
If you drive anything post 1983 no one's interested..........:(
Piss-taking barstewards - you all know what I mean :p ;)

Yup, we should all drive Sofas and watch our weighty beasties wallow through the bends...
Ah no that's Supra's, my bad :D :D
I'm going to have to have another go against that TT of yours Keith, mr C couldn't close the gap on mine last week (both on lower boost, but his was detting..)... Looking forward to it? :D :D
Shouldn't be a problem - I'll just remove the slippers from under the accelerator and dislodge the pipe stopping it getting into 2nd, 4th and 6th, and we should be well away :p
Alternatively I'll just whack the boost up to 1.4bar knowing full well the stock turbos and fuelling are up to it :D:p
(Actually I won't, as my IC is showing its age somewhat, and I can't afford to replace it, and I shouldn't really go much above a bar, if that high, until I do :( )

That doesn't sound too promising Keith... Still, it's a great excuse to get a decent FMIC :)
