Evil Dead Films

I managed to pick up cheap DVD's of:

1. Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn
2. Evil Dead 3: Army of Darkness

But now I've seen a special edition Evil Dead 1 in the second hand CD store?

Is it the same film as Evil Dead 2:Dead by dawn?

It looks the same on the clips, and also has the same story but it was banned so they had to remake it as Evil Dead 2 :confused: :confused:

Is that right? Does it warrant buying (bearing in mind its only £4.99), just don't fancy having two exactly the same.

The original Evil Dead I was far better than II. As far as i know they just re-made the first film with a similar story (and a few less characters) and with a few of the "best" scenes removed and came up with Evil Dead II. If the one you've seen is the original film then i'd say buy it.... if it's a chopped version then i wouldn't bother.

different film, it deals with ash's group going to the cabin. the second one is the old scientists daughter's group going to the cabin and finding ash as the only survivor.

It's essentially the same, but remade with comedy overtones, which was carried over to the third film.

the third film was a scream, best of the lot (apart from the eyeball in the second one:D :D :D )

third one, when did that come out then???? does that take over from when he travels to god knows where, and theres all the skeleton things and the car drops from the sky, thats the ending of the second one aint it??

Yes there was, I got the two disk version with the US version and the Directors cut (HMV are currently doing it cheap).

In the US version he goes back to the supermarket and a witch follows him for a final comedy battle with shotgun's etc :cool:

In the alternative ending he loses count of how many drops of potion he takes and ends up in post-apocalyiptic (sp?) Earth with a long beard shouting "I slept too long!!"

The comedy in the third one is excellent with an army of skeletons etc :cool:

The DVD in the second hand shop claims to be the "full un-cut original", sounds like its worth a shot.

I've got all 3 on DVD.

The first one is an all-out gore fest.

The second pretty much the same as the first but with some comedy in for good measure

and the third is SOOOO funny :D

Gotta love those skeletons :D

I watched the directors cut of Evil Dead 3 last night, highlights include:

"You're the leader of two things right now - Jack and shit.... And jack just left town!"

And

The bit where the wifey gets turned into a Zombie thing, "I'm bad....... but I feel GOOD"

Probably has to be seen in context of the film to be funny though :(
